Hacking Is this everthing i need? (vWii soft mod)

Wasabi fellas,

since we don't have an ETA on the IOSU exploit/hack yet, i felt like i could use the time to softmod my vWii and probably brick it in the process.

So...i read the full softmod guide and based on it i assume those are the things i need:

• A 2GB SD Card, like this one
• A Flash Drive to play GC and Wii backups
• Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World, since i prefer a game i intend to play over batman and can't find my brawl copy
• A new Wii Mote and a Nunchuck

Did i overlook something? And while we are at it, is there an up to date video tutorial for this that includes also edits made by cyan, just to be on the safe side when i brick stuff and start crying?

Doesn't need to be a new wiimote, and be prepared to try different SD cards as a lot just don't like to work with doing this exploit.

I used a mini SD in a adaptor which worked a treat, that was my 3rd card to try.

It's real easy to install the vwii stuff, just watch that video and take your time.

Before i try garbage that doesn't work. Which one did you use?

well just a warning fake wiimotes might not work same for 3rd partys.

Flashdrives arent recomended since most of them can be incompatible, an hdd with an y cable or its own power source would be the best thing.

the sd card i used was a scan disk 2gb sd card worked perfectly for my wii and vwii, still does.

You mean especially for the installation progress or in general? The wii mote had decent reviews.

Yeah, i considered a HDD at first, but the price difference is huge and there was a controversy whether the same HDD could be used for the Wii U as well after the exploit, so i was willing to risk 9 bucks, since someone else here was successfully using a 64gb version.

i mean fake wiiremotes usaly dont work on manny homebrews or even during the instalation process becuase they send out wierd signals, i wouldnt risk using a third party or fake wiimote, my fake wiimote does not work on any wii or vwii homebrew app only inside wii games, my wiiu pro that is fake crashes my homebrew channel when i turn it on on vwii lol.

as i said inside wii games they work preety well but inside homebrew they are very unstable.

Yeah, that's the thing tho. No point in buying a cheap one if i end up needing a proper one anyway to get things going.
