Running Houston, I get:

>bash: ./houston: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error

I'm on:
Linux lappyx86 3.19.0-32-generic #37~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Oct 22 09:37:25 UTC 2015 i686 i686 i686 GNU/Linux

Also, coming in totally blind on this, so don't take my suggestion as anything other than curiosity, but why not use something like tftp for this?

well,i'm not sure about that, how you know it's legit?
it must be a game that was preinstalled with a bundle.
Ex. Limited Edition 2DS comes with either Pokemon OR or AS. CIA files dumped from those are legit.
Same with MK7, Super Mario Bros 2 Special Edition, Tomodachi Life, etc.
Only about 20 games are available as legit CIAs.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

is that true?
yes.

Can you download an out of region game and then use the gridlauncher to open it with Hans or region free launcher

Linux executable has been compiled on a Debian x86 machine. If you want, you can simply recompile it from scratch: https://github.com/Rinnegatamante/Houston

Im on US n3dsxl. I can load tomadachi life EUR through Hans but Kirby EUR doesn't load. I read around that it's a known issue. Is there any way to get it working, and/or a way to patch eur legit cias to be region free? Also is Hans the only way to play out of region legit cias?

Successfully installed New Super Mario Bros 2 on 10.3 ( small O3DS ) with NASA 1.1.

Installation went smoothly at 957kbps, game showed up on the home menu as a gift like it should, and shows up on system settings :D

Have a look at the souce of houston.
It just read the whole cia file into memory then send.
If some user want to install cia bigger than 3G...
I don't think it is a good method.

I have two questions:
1.If I change something in the legit .cia file, will it still be in the home menu?
2.Can I change a normal .cia file (Example OOT3D) into a legit .cia?
