hmm now when i try to open the folder with my legit CIAs i get Error: [string "?"]:2096: error opening file any help?

well,i'm not sure about that,how you know it's legit?

it must be a game that was preinstalled with a bundle.
Ex. Limited Edition 2DS comes with either Pokemon OR or AS. CIA files dumped from those are legit.
Same with MK7, Super Mario Bros 2 Special Edition, Tomodachi Life, etc.
Only about 20 games are available as legit CIAs.

Linux executable has been compiled on a Debian x86 machine. If you want, you can simply recompile it from scratch: https://github.com/Rinnegatamante/Houston

Just keep in mind that it wntn work with hans in a o3ds, not sure about region4.

Im on US n3dsxl. I can load tomadachi life EUR through Hans but Kirby EUR doesn't load. I read around that it's a known issue. Is there any way to get it working, and/or a way to patch eur legit cias to be region free? Also is Hans the only way to play out of region legit cias?

Successfully installed New Super Mario Bros 2 on 10.3 ( small O3DS ) with NASA 1.1.

Installation went smoothly at 957kbps, game showed up on the home menu as a gift like it should, and shows up on system settings

Have a look at the souce of houston.
It just read the whole cia file into memory then send.
If some user want to install cia bigger than 3G...
I don't think it is a good method.
