It installs but ps1 is too slow on o3ds. Don't bother.
:/ -sigh- I need a N3DS badly. I was under the impression that PCSX could run at least decent on some games when installed as a CIA on O3DS EmuNAND. It says on the first page of this thread that it needs a CIA to run right at all.
Is my only option for playing PS1 games on a 3DS is if I get a N3DS?

It's not really playable on n3DS in my experience. Games with close to 60 FPS still have terrible audio. It would be nice to get a list together of games that work well though.

3DS wise, yes. If you have a psp though you might want to just use that since they run great on those.

I know a few games that run around 30 FPS pretty fine that I was hoping to try. That's why I was hoping I could get PCSX to run on the O3DS lol. But, I guess I'll have to wait till I can afford a N3DS. I would get a PSP, but that's a whole other scene I'd have to adjust to.

Well, chances are, if the game was intensive enough for the devs to lock at 30 on the original PS1 hardware, it'll run even slower on the 3DS. A game like that might end up running at 20fps or slower.

the cia build of PCSX rearmed is working again for o3DS, my guess is that you are still using an old build.

the 3dsx builds of mame2000, mame2003 and fba_full should also be working again.

Nice to see you here again! :)

Do you have any plans for the future with RetroArch 3DS? :)

Can someone tell me how well the following systems emulate on an O3DS on the nightly?
Neogeo Pocket, NG Pocket Color, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Game Gear, TurboGrafix-16

neogeo pocket/color is slow, gameboy/color is fullspeed with gameyob, haven't tried retroarch with gb/c games, gamegear is full speed with genesis plus gx, and turbo grafix-16 is slow.

is there anything retroarch does well on O3DS?

Are gameyob and retroarch saves compatible?

The retroarch ones that i use that run good on o3ds are quicknes for nes games, gpsp for gba games, genesis plus gx for sega master system and sega game gear games and picodrive for sega genesis/megadrive games. Have to exit the emulators to switch games or it retroarch freezes up.

I have no idea if gameyob and retroarch saves are compatible but if they are .sav, then they might be.

thanks again

Is picodrive relatively fullspeed on O3DS?

:'( I'm just gonna buy another PS1 lol

Why do that? The PS3 has a great PS1 emulator. Install a CFW with a Cobra payload like Rebug, and you can run ISOs from a Mybook. Works so well that, even if there was an ODDE for the original, it would be hard to justify (then again, the ODDE for the Dreamcast is damn hard to justify, but that's probably not going to stop me, lol).

I don't remember there ever being a save format war between GB/GBC emulators, so, probably. Then again, for years everything except NoCash was pretty much just a clone of VGBA with new features (and NoCash always took saves from the other emulators, not to mention the Mr. Flash backup cart). Actually most format wars were over ROM formats, not save formats. Even Bung wasn't crazy enough to open that can of worms. Saves are the one thing even their devices dump straight copies of. But enough of the history lesson. The point is, it should work. I'll be genuinely surprised if it doesn't.

Much easier to just get a ps1 with either a psio, a modchip, or a swap disc. Plus it is the original hardware not emulation so 100% compatibility.
