EDIT: I accidentally posted this as a reply, sorry about that...

EDIT AGAIN: I guess I just have to set up an emunand and it should work fine.

I went from a 9.4 N3DS down to 9.2 using this version as the original sysUpdater 4.2b would spit out some "main.cpp" error. During the downgrade process, after a bunch of file were installed, I got the dreaded "System Error has occurred". I almost crapped in my pants but upon rebooting the N3DS I was on 9.2 and installed rxTools on it. Now I just need a bigger microSD card so I can install an emuNand as the built-in 4GB is too small for my taste.

I jumped into the madness, putting my fear of bricking my beloved N3DS aside.

Achieved correct downgrade of my N3DS on the 3rd time starting the safesysupdater due to exploit failing, worked like a charm once it hooked arm11. That worked much better than on my O3DS.
Thanks for this, emuNand, here I come!

ok so using SafeSysUpdater.. I keep getting red dots on left of screen... is that a common error?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

IF I have MenuHax/Grid Menu already installed.. can I just use BrowserHax to get back into HBL?

Whenever I pres Y to downgrade, the screen just goes black with a little red line on the bottom left of the top-screen.

Is this supposed to happen? How long is it supposed to stay there if so? I have restarted my 3DS a couple of times whenever this showed up.

That's not supposed to happen, you should probably check the .cia's you have and make sure they're good.

I checked the .cia files before downgrading and it said they were all good, showed the version and everything. Although, I noticed with the normal sysUpdater, it kept saying that it failed to "get the cia info." I have them in the updates folder, and put the safesysupdate.3dsx into the 3ds folder (without its own separate folder though). Should I put it in its own folder?

So when i try to downgrade my Japanese N3DS From 10.3 to 9.2 i get failed on update 0004001000020900.cia. any idea why?

welp, im downgrading right now with safesysupdater... and it is working fine!

Haha! Downgraded to 9.2.0 in my first try! Thank you so much man, you work is really appreciated!

this is to downgrade, it's recommended to be on 10.3, most people reported success witout soft brick in this version

N3DS user here, on 10.3, running SafeSysUpdater from MenuHax.
I ran the file checker to see if my files were correct, and it ran no problem. Is this a hint that the actual downgrade have better chance of running and not getting stuck? Does the file checking actually runs memchunkHax to function? or it is only executed when pressing Y?
Thanks

Hi.
I have a New 3DS XL (EUR) and i want to know if the *.cia pack in the initial post is valid for my console. If it is not, where can i get a *.cia pack valid?

Thanks for your help.

Wanted to report a successful downgrade from 10.3 n3ds to 9.2!

Just gotta be brave and use the right files for your system!

Rewarding !

When this "SafeSysUpdater"'s original thread post says:
"To use it you have to : - Put SafeSysUpdater.3dsx somewhere you can launch it..."

Where exactly should that be?
I have (2) files "SafeSysUpdater.3dx-08" (488kb) and "SafeSysUpdater.cia" (699kb)

I'm guessing on the card's root in the "3ds" folder, but not sure if the two files should be loose or what.

I'm using a new n3ds xl @ 10.3.0-28U, and loading my card up on a Windows PC.
and the regular sysUpdater (0.4.2b) is giving me a fit with the "failed to get CIA file info" error stuff.
Already tried reformatted card, clean install of the right files for mine (U, n3ds) and booted into sysUpdater via Browserhax, retried 99999 times, lol..same error

if you're gonna update using *hax

put 3dsx file inside of 3ds/SafeSysUpdater/ file.3dsx
then put "updates" file in root of your sd card

I used ironhax and safesysupdater, had to turn on wifi for some reason to make it work, else I end up with black screen and red/pink dots on the bottom left of the screen
