Yes, but they aren't mismatched.
Well that's good, if nothing else that helps narrow it down for us.

So you said you were on 9.9 before downgrading?
I've heard more of these unusual issues arise when people are using these less common FW's than 10.3.
I've also heard of people with similar issues managing to fix it by upgrading to 10.3 before downgrading to 9.2
..You might want to consider trying that if you haven't already and if no one else has any ideas.

Maybe there's an issue with certain versions of the browser being stubborn about downgrading (maybe it detects the browser you had on 9.9 as the same as the 9.2 and ignores it), and the one that comes on 10.3 simply handles it better by comparison?

I've found a way around my issue. Couldn't get the auto page of browserhax to work but with some messing around I was able to trick the browser into allowing me to use it by going to the pages manually. I have reported my instructions to that post as well.

I thought you were saying it couldn't be used at this time?

Indeed, the auto page will say that. However, manually going to the correct exploit for n3ds it would trigger. It seems there is some sort of issue with it not loading fast enough to trick the browser, but how this even happened in the first place is beyond me because I shouldn't ever received the dummyupdate (if I did)

Gotchu... I wonder if there's just some leftover settings and hidden values that were tied to 9.9, which caused this dummying because of the inconsistency.

It would kind of explain all this pretty clearly.

Not sure, having issues installing menuhax atm. Things seem very off. Retransfering Menuhax setup to make sure theres no issues with that.

Well, if other titles are continuing to act funky aside from the browser, I'd definitely recommend going up to 10.3 and taking it back down to 9.2 to guarantee consistent results with the rest of the forum while you still have the chance.

I'm good now, we'll see if everything remains okay from here. Hopefully this post helps others as it seems it can happen to others. If issues with CFW occur, will be attempting to redowngrade. Fixed my menuhax + ironfall now.

Now, I do believe I have gotten an incomplete downgrade. I have no idea why the system is even working in that case. No PastaCFW signature checks will run at all for me, and I have trouble starting Ironfall for some reason, it hangs on the Nintendo DS splash screen. Other games work. I can however dump my NAND in Emunand...

When I run Sysupdater to try to run it again to see, it doesn't install anything and says "Installation complete, will reboot" and doesn't reboot. Simply reload the 3ds and everything is fine... but we loop back to what I posted above..

edit: I have dumped my nand, but pastacfw and other stuff are broked. What is even up with this? Lol.
Infact sysupdater throws the error of the exploit not working now for memchunk, even though I am on 9.2
FBI works but throws invalid signature, so I have kernel access..

Edit: So I went to 10.3 out of frustration, and was able to install 9.2 within 3min completley. I highly suggest if you're on 9.9.0 or ish to go straight to 10.3, and not bother. 9.9.0 was a huge pain in the ass, with a good chance of bricking my 3ds had I not waited.

For future reference Ironfall will -not- work on 9.2 no matter what because it requires a higher fw version to run.

It failing to run is normal.

You know what's really odd? Is that when I had a partial downgrade it would work. I've solved all my problems now, as I was able to get the full downgrade once I went up to 10.3. Thanks :)

Well the partial downgrade would have parts of system from higher FW that would trick Ironfall into thinking it has a higher version FW, so it would run. :P

That's very relative, I had 9.9 and downgraded pretty much first try (my actual first try was with hax 2.1 and it failed, once I used hax 2.5 it worked as soon as I booted sysupdater).

I don't think this procedure follows any hard rules, it's pretty random atm.

I'll just leave this here:

the way I got sliderhax to be much more stable is to get the ropbin for your version at http://smealum.github.io/3ds/#otherapp, place it at the root, and name it browserhax_hblauncher_ropbin_payload.bin
Stability wasn't the issue, but the fact it wouldn't run at all from the auto portion was. It'd just give the error as if you had that dummy browser. I think I actually tried that as my very first thing when I was half-downgraded, but it didnt matter cause of it.

I think there is a lot of people who are probably with partial downgrades and don't realize it, as it seems to be an issue occurring rather than bricks. Which, seems to cause all sorts of errors rather than just brick. heh..
