There are plenty of tutorials arround for sysupdater, should a wait for this or just simply downgrade with sysupdate?

It's good that it's being released now before the 10.4 update. But, like said many times: It was explained that this program will not be safer, just more "noob" (I hate that word) friendly. So, if you're an idiot, don't downgrade.

At all..

With any method, anything..

Ever.

Im not even scared of bricking, my problem with sysUpdater is that it doesnt fucking work. Been rebooting my N3DS for 3 days now
Use a small 2 or 4 gb freshly formatted sd with only required files. format system and go. I've done 3 new3ds and 1 old with this method. The longest it took me was 5 try's. 1 new 3ds did it first time. No soft bricks either.
That's my advice but do it at your own risk.

QUIT WHILE YOU'RE AHEAD. I broke my 3DS permanently on the second try. :(

...Oh wait, they fixed the brick risks, didn't they? In that case, just wait for KTM. You'll probably get faster results with that once it comes out.

It is impossible to develop a downgrading tool that has no risk of hard bricking. The only way to be safe is performing a NAND backup and being able to restore it, and the only way to do that right now is with a hardmod.
Exactly, because that's the nature of the exploit, its literally a gamble (also that's how it derrek explained that works on the 32c3 talk).

Okay, so what exactly is the difference between using KTM and sysupdater? like, are there any benefits to downgrading using KTM besides stability and the lowered chance of brick?

There is no promises of increased stability as the issue is within the exploit itself, that is what we have gathered besides other than a "probably". There is already a lowered chance of bricking from updated sysupdaters, unless you have no idea what you're doing

How come? From what I've observed sysUpdater executes the exploit right after launching the app and won't even proceed to allow you an attempted downgrade if said exploit fails. Instead, it just freezes / crashes.
However since this seems to be false premise, please enlighten me.

justpingo said already that ktm will be safer and if it gives any bricks it will be soft ones only. twitter, you can check.

KTM benefits.
1.File completeness checking. So if your update pack is broken you would be notified.
2.Retry 5 times. You can code it to infinite times from source code. If a title can not install for 5 times, it would abandon.
Sysupdater do not retry the installation. So a bit safer here.
3.More notes about Downgrading. Noob-friendly. It would tell you some important points.
4.Clean NAND. It would remove the titles only higher firmware has.
As any downgrading software THIS CAN NOT PROMISE BRICK-PROOF. But it tries to lower the chance.
Anyone feeling bad for his luck can always do a hard-mod before the attempt. Hard-mod is good cause you need it if hard-brick.
