what exactly happened the 2nd time?

i was getting bumped for trying this out but i'll wait a bit more then... but please explain what happened

Everything that happened was already explained. I DG'd my EUR 2DS. It froze mid sequence, bricked.
I tried hers, it soft bricked. We restored it, I tried again. It hard bricked. This whole situation has me in a position where I just don't want to talk about game systems right now... Please PM me if you or anyone else has anything else to ask.

you need to read all of the tutorials. Be aware this is not a piracy forum. 3ds dumps and backups can be in the form of .3ds or .cia files. To install applications to the 3ds menu you are generally installing homebrew .cia files either to sysnand or emunand.

That should give you enough keywords to start doing some reading.

downgrading and installing a CFW are a good starting point yes.

i have a brand new 3ds xl of reyes magos its a tradition of mexico, haha i try to downgrade but i had a strange issue in the middle of the downgrade my new 3ds had this error below i try to power off (forced) but the screen goes black, then i fixed with recovery and update system Did i should to downgrade again? :S

Not suggest you try again? Just a little advice if you try again, then make you you get the correct firmware pack and use the updated sysupdater.

So I'm having problems, I hope that a solution is available... and it's probably been mentioned a million times already so I'm sorry.

I have a european N3DS, I have checked the cia files MD5 and it was good, and extracted and copied them in my sd root, in a folder called "updates".

I only have menuhax as Ironfall would bring up an error when trying to download from old eshop.

the sysupdater sometimes works from the homebrew launcher, but mostly is just a black screen. When it does load, after pressing Y it says "failed to get cia info" with some other text. I have tried and tried...but it either says that or is just a black screen.

I have tried re extracting the files using teracopy, 7zip and windows own zip program.

Is there any solutions for this issue yet or should I just wait for something more stable?

dude you are the luckiest man alive for being able to enter Recovery Mode after it chrashed MIDWAY THROUGH, in New 3DS no less. Don't downgrade again until a more stable release comes out, this Kernel Time Machine thing seems to be very stable, the developer claim it's impossible for it to brick any console ( New 3DS included ), stay tuned for that one and thank your god for being so mercifull with you ( crash midway through the downgrade is 99% of the times a permanent brick you are SO darn lucky )

the downgrade process is unstable you can keep trying if you want to. It may take many tries. You may also permanently break your n3ds. Be careful.

Redownload your firmware pack and recheck. Failed to get cia info may mean your firmware CIA is damaged.

What magic did you use on your system...? No seriously, for it to crash at say 99% still leaves at a 99% chance the system is ruined, how's your system still working....? As said above, do not do it again. You're insanely lucky.

Did you try take the memory card out and try the combination to boot into Recovery mode? There is this SD card problem. Just saying.

If I am not mistakenly you're the same person who get extremely bad luck install CFW and turned away when you could get 9.0 N3DS and picked the O3DS?

Edit: Just notice this, like with backing up SYSNAND & formatting EMUNAND,I notice the 4GB SD/mSD card works better than those big one. Used to have 10-15 freeze backing up NAND/ formatting EMUNAND to 32GB+ SD card

I tried it all. I also threw it at wall in a blind rage. Lmao. That made me much happier about this all. I don't think the wall liked it, though... There's a hole in my wall now! With all seriousness, I tried everything. Nothing worked.

no, because in that case its useless i think, however i really REALLY stay away from this and just waiting for @JustPingo KTM tool

Update, nope I will wait for KTM everything installed black screen on boot, with and without SD card, luckily I was able to enter recovery and currently updating the system I WILL NOT TRY AGAIN!!!!!
