So you're saying you agree that downgrading won't get any safer than the current methods, yet you also imply that bricks can occur even when there is no fault on the user's behalf?

Doesn't the fact that the program can brick even when the process is done correctly suggest that the downgrade process can become more reliable in the future?
Not exactly, we're unofficially replacing system files offline.

He's not the one making KTM though. KTM uses the same exact downgrading methods (InstallFirm and InstallCia). All KTM does is hash checking and making sure you are installing the right version to your system console. It cuts out all user error so the only thing that bricks it is bad luck.
if KTM is not much more advanced than what we have then whats taking so long to release it???

I think you missed my point. What I'm saying is that even if all the steps are done correctly, the result can still be a bricked device due to error on the program's behalf. Surely if the program has issues, they can potentially be improved.

The fact that we are unofficially installing system files offline means there is a risk of a brick occuring, but just because that risk exists doesn't mean that risk can't be minimised by more stable releases of downgrade applications.
It's more of the nature of how the Homebrew Launcher itself works.

lol How so you remove your system cias and replace them with ones on a sd card
I cant understand you (my english is bad) but that I was said I formatted my sd card and 3ds, do the first steps on 3ds (like region, time..) and installed browserhax and homemenuhax and copied the neccesery files and sysUpdater :)

That does not mean it was any easier, that was just some extra steps you decided to take. (For "safety"?)

Just downgrade N3DS 10.3 to 9.2 jsut now. Success in one go.

3DS model: 10.3.0-28U N3DS XL Zelda Hyrule Edition
Entrypoint: Inronfall Invasion 1.1 - Ironhax 2.5
sysupdater version: sysUpdater-0.4.2b-libkhax-SAFEMODE-priority (from the thread on that common place. Link is on the same line as the firmware package)

Summary of downgrading process:

Change and use default theme -> Delete all network connections -> connect to 1 unsecured WIFI network (my own network)-> transfer updates file and sysupdater.3dsx through Nintendo micro SD management app -> when transfer's complete, run Ironhax 2.5 -> Open RetroArch gamebatte then quit it cleanly (using quite retroarch option) -> run sysupdater -> hit Y button to downgrade -> Wait 5 minutes (Checking mail) -> Profit with a 9.2.0-20U N3DS XL!!!

i asked justpingo if ktm will have bricks and he pointed that if it has any bricks it will be soft ones only.. so i will wait.. he said that ktm will release tomorrow maybe.

Pretty sure he said nothing about it being easier.

So you're saying that the current release of sysUpdater is the best, most stable downgrading application that will ever exist and that errors only occur because the program has to work within the limitation of the userland access we have through the Homebrew Launcher?
I am?
You're implying that bricks will be next to impossible with an update.
All I'm saying is that we're not getting a huge thing like you expect. Most bricks are on n3DS anyway.
