As far as we all know, the scene has been very active the past months, and 10.3 o3ds and n3ds can now downgrade to 9.2 and install a cfw of choice, following this thread.

This will inevitably lead to a lot of new users coming here with a lot of noob questions, and while the downgrading process is itself pretty simple, installing a cfw (for example rxtools) is not because those tutorials are all outdated (from june to september).

I know this is a pretty pointless thread, but I think someone smart and brave enough should post a tutorial following the whole process from 10.3 to cfw in order to run unsigned .cia, considering the most popular options (cakes, pasta, and so on).

Tutorial threads just work fine, people need to learn how to read

This one works https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutoria...dboot-cia-manager.405589/page-15#post-5920998

While that tutorial may work, it is not optimized for old 3ds users. More importantly, there are several tutorials around that just confuse people. One thing is learning how to read, but what I think its better is to a have one single update tutorial that optimizes time and resources regarding the actual scene.

Please be realistic about the situation here, this method was released really short time ago and people don't know all the details about it.

There is no way to create an ultimate guide with everything you need to know (when we don't know everything yet) and have everyone in the whole forum on it when we are talking about a method released in less than a 24 hours...

Maybe people should be a little more patient don't you think???

no, i don't. I agree with tthe OP but with a index instead of a new tutorial. We already have a lot of threads for newbies who want to learn more. However they preffer to make a lot of new threads with already answered questions, hiding useful threads about homebrews and new tools. If they want to learn, they have to research or at least learn how to use the search bar.

Black screen rxtools homemenuhax problem..
I just downgraded my o3ds 10.3 to 9.2 and installed rxtools by coldboot cfw something involving homemenuhax. Now I could load emunand by pressing R on boot. After I did so,I went to my Pokémon SMD on emunand. It said that it had to be updated to 9.9 to work. I updated it and I was on emunand at that time but now I'm getting this message when I press r or normally (sysnand and emunand)
Preparing to start the homemenu and then I get a black screen...
What do I do to fix this !? I'm really tensed bout this, pls reply fast..thanks...

damn but pls help, whats the correct thread?

Any thread where people is talking about installs/issues.

^^^ See? This is what I'm talking about, no matter how hard you try people don't take the necessary time to find what they are looking for, so they just ask anywhere...

Just downgrade back down from 9.9 to 9.2 again, just the same as doing 10.3 to 9.2. And you can't use a game to update emunand I believe as it will update the sysnand instead.

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
