Just fmi... Does it at the moment need to run the browser exploit every time you boot the wiiu? So like countless tries to run the exploit to actually start loadiine or the likes? Boy that's annoying isn't it

Never update. And 5.4 and 5.5 have different exploits.

Updating overatted, january 11th its slated
We getting wii u games for free, who can play them? Anybody!
Get ready for games galore, a nintendo hacked system like never before

Look, I am fairly certain that you're pulling this date out of your ass, so could you please stop trying to get people hyped for a fake date? You're going to cause a bunch of "Y INNIT HIER" posts on the 11th

Fine ill stop throwing the date out there, still pretty sure I can feel it in my bones

You know what would be great I think is if we could null out the Wii emulation and just use the Wii U for everything including loading of Wii and GCN games. I think big N should have done this in my opinion, just have the Wii U play Wii games on the Wii U with out having them be two separate entities in the same box. From my understanding is that when you boot up the Wii U then click on the Wii button your booting into a Virtual Wii, essentially shutting off the Wii U's side of things temporarily if I'm not mistaken? I mean if they where just going to emulate core components of the Wii why not just make it part of the Wii U as a whole?

This is correct. I'm guessing Nintendo did that so that the Wii U wouldn't be hacked on launch day, but it really was a missed opportunity

And yet here we are, go get'em Hykem lol :gba: So im wondering something? When will these game companies learn that by today's standards there are allot of people out there who are brilliant at figuring out how consoles and handhelds work and have the means and know how to reverse engineer and exploit there machines? I mean it's what they do, its there hobby and its fun for them, like me when I build new UI/GUI graphics or website - its Awesome to see my hard work pay off and for others to enjoy :D So why try to stop them from doing so? personally I find stuff like this fun and I learn a great deal about the way my units work that I wouldn't have else known. I get there loosing money but from what I understand there still making there billions and thus is hardly hurting them in the long run am I correct?

I've been gaming for along time since the early 80's and have seen allot of things in my time but I feel I can safely say that no matter how hard these game company's try to stop homebrew there will always be that exploit that will get found it only takes a little tinkering and time ;P

Because piracy lol

To be honest, I really doubt they would care if it was just romhacks and homebrew

As fail0verflow pointed out, it would be perfectly possible for Nintendp to create a hardware sandbox that just allowed homebrew code. They could shut off the disc drive, internal storage, Wii U keys, and crypto hardware, while leaving other new Wii U hardware on. But they clearly didn't have an interest in doing that.

To me the biggest issue is the whole region lock crap Nintendo keeps spewing. I own a ps3 which I bought in the US that uses EU games... I don't see Sony crying about sales or bitching about people buying their games from just one region.... >.>

You say "Piracy" lol and yet its a super touchy issue even by today's regulations because its a console or unit you bought with your own cash lol, maybe the government or FCC or who ever's in charge of writing up these rules should go by me and my dads rules lol, "We bought its ours we can do what ever the hell we damn well please with it" lol :D
