I and others have tried this method. There was no reputable member confirming success, and more than one person bricked their Wii U attempting this.
Any hard mod figured out yet? If not mind notifying me if you figure it out?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I didn't mean to imply that Hykem was making a home brew channel, he and I were both just citing it as an example. As far and I know HBC hasn't even begun coding by anyone yet. Maybe @Marionumber1 ;3
I'll see if I can start that if it has not yet.

Not really. There are much better options. A raspberry for example.
A raspberry would be a better option? How so? The raspberry Pi is one of the slowest machines running Kodi, the only thing good about it, is that it can run Kodi on very cheap hardware, but it is far from the best hardware for Kodi.

The WiiU would be the best, as it already has a controller that has built in keyboard support and TV control. With modification, the controller could have a kodi remote overlay to use and if forwarded, could possibly launch WiiU games and VC directly from Kodi.

Then please leave this thread. Not everyone here believes in god so please dont tell us that we cant refer to someone as god because that name is reserved for someone who we might not believe exist. I dont have a problem with your beliefs until you push them on other people.

I can say that probably those interested in Kodi already have something dedicated running it hooked up to their television
Kodi should really stay where it is
just about any android device can control kodi for keyboard inputs, you know?

It's an interesting idea. I for one have never opened up my wii u to know how much free room is available but it may no be very hard to achieve.
No. No. Thats not how it works.

I just hope TCP Gecko will quickly be updated to work with the exploit. I don't care about modding or anything, I just want to use it for infinite rupees in Hyrule Warriors. I'm being serious, I can't stand farming rupees. I guess something like XBMC would be cool but yeah... I'd like an unlimited supply of glorious rupees.

Don't forget the materials... its a pain to grind those too

There is a god: El... psy.... congroo

I have been running XBMC since the original came out, and yes on a hacked original xbox, hence the name. This was over 10 years ago.

The original xbox was fine, but the GPU was never hacked, so to do 1080P as time went by, I had to upgrade. I then ran a dedicated Acer Revo Intel Atom PC running the Linux distro, this was great, as time went by I wanted something smaller and more powerful. I now run XBMC on a Ouya, which I bought just for this reason, but if I can run it on the WiiU with added features and more power, it's one less box that I need to own, it's win win.

This goes to show, that I have been using XBMC for over 10 years, so I would consider myself "interested" and currently have a dedicated box, that I could eliminate. Yes, Android devices can control Kodi, but if I already have a wii controller in my hand, why put it down to dig in my pocket for my phone, and vice versa?

I'm running Kodi on a rpi2 with a ps3 remote, it's great but I wish the box was powerful enough for hi10p and h265,I use my gf laptop for that which runs them fine with a cheapo intel processor (not even an i3).

Kodi Wii U would be amazing, but you know as well as me that nobody was ever interested in porting it to 360-jtag/rgh or ps3 (showtime is no kodi but at least it's something), gamepad could be a good remote but so is my phone, and I wouldn't want to watch most stuff on the gamepad, especially with subs, it's too low res.

I'm super interested if the wiiu will boot without bluray drive plugged in and removed. When iosu is out was thinking of replacing bd drive with 2.5" hard drive and install a powered usb hub in it's place hardwired to usb socket on motherboard :) 2tb storage :)

Then replace it with a SSD drive, so no heat problems :) did this also with my "old" wii

Small question: How do I figure out the region of the file, I download in NUSGrabber-GUI? Most titles are double in the listing, so I guess one is US and one EU.
