I have two regular 3ds xl's on 10.3 firmware.. Where do I begin? Can someone list the steps in chronological order.

1. Have a computer you can put an SD card into.
2. Install the latest starter kit from http://smealum.github.io/3ds/

NOW, YOU CAN EITHER:

1. Use browserhax by following the instructions from here to launch the Homebrew Launcher.
2. Join the elite MLG gang by purchasing a copy of Cubic Ninja and set it up for the Homebrew Launcher by following the instructions here.
3. Purchase a Save Dongle and install OoTHAX on a retail copy of Ocarina of Time by following the instructions here.

IF YOU CHOSE BROWSERHAX, YOU CAN NOW EITHER:

1. Keep using browserhax even though it'll probably die in a couple weeks.
2. Install homemenuhax using the installer in the starter kit.
3. Follow the instructions here to install the right version of IronFall, then install ironhax using the installer in the starter kit.
4. Purchase a retail or eShop version of Ocarina of Time, then install OoTHAX using the installer in the starter kit.
5. Join the elite MLG gang by purchasing a copy of Cubic Ninja and set it up for the Homebrew Launcher by following the instructions here.

IF YOU CHOSE NINJHAX2.5, YOU CAN NOW EITHER:

1. Just use ninjhax2.5! It can't be patched, so it's not going anywhere!
2. Use browserhax as a backup even though it'll probably die in a couple weeks.
3. Install homemenuhax using the installer in the starter kit.
4. Follow the instructions here to install the right version of IronFall, then install ironhax using the installer in the starter kit.
5. Purchase a retail or eShop version of Ocarina of Time, then install OoTHAX using the installer in the starter kit.

IF YOU CHOSE OoTHAX, YOU CAN NOW EITHER:

1. Just use OoTHAX! It can't be patched, so it's not going anywhere!

From here, you can enjoy the many Homebrew apps on offer.

i'm so tired of these threads

My main interest is backups not homebrew... My only interest is backups and maybe vc games.
Well then on 10.3, there is nothing else than Sky3DS(+) at the moment, though people are working on things.
But still, maybe said things will require homebrew access to work so you may want to begin with that anyway.

I'm lazy as hell should I install some crap or do I just wait.
Right now, install Browserhax, Themehax if you want, and Ironhax. Also, if you have OOT or Cubic Ninja, install homebrew on those too. IMO, its good to have as many entry points as possible.

Just read what I wrote again. If the kernel hacks (that will allow your "backups") that come out "soon" need a homebrew entrypoint to be run, you'll be the only one to blame for not having set up a homebrew entrypoint while you were able to.

What are you trying to achieve with MenuHax? What version are you on?

10.3

I was expecting some way to easily get into the homebrew launcher...
Isnt this hax supposed to install some sort of shortcut to it?

I got to install IronHax, but it is kind... well, the menuhax is better than it, right?

Menuhax yes, you technically power the device down, then hold the L button while it boots up. That's technically the gist of it.

Ironhax and everything else all serve the same purpose, an entry point into homebrew. Menuhax/Browserhax just makes the entry easier than require the need for games to access them.

Good to have that clear. Thanks.

Only problem is that ive installed the menuhax twice, using the menuhax manager that came with the starter kit.
Yet the "hold L" aint working
I can only get in using the ironhax

Should i use the menuhax menu to uninstall it and install again?

Should i download a new menuhax manager? Is there an updated one?

(I have ironhax but ill probably install homebrew in my wife's 3ds, and she dont have ironfall...)

Do you have the ropbin files placed properly? the program does most of the naming process anyway, but you should generate one from smeal's site and then the app will use it to make a boot up option for you. Also I think you can stay on what theme you like, but you can't switch it around.
