Back when the regular DS and its flashcarts were the "Thing" people made it possible to combine two games into one. So, from what I remember there was a Soul Silver Heart Gold one that had two different saves, one for SS and one for HG

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

It also made selecting one game give you the option of many, like a flashcart within a flashcart

I fail to see the use of that.

And besides, no, I don't think so. Never with sky3ds anyway as it only reads unmodified roms.
Gateway, Cfw and other things. I personally hope yes and it would be great for the CFW users so they wouldn't have 1000 games on their nands

Cfw doesn't play roms. It plays cia and in my home menu I have them all lined up nicely. That's again why I don't see what a list of games inside a single icon would help me do better. Completely useless if you ask me.

Eh, we have our opinions. I mean, merge 3ds roms, convert to cia

Useless, not possible, if someone made it possible they would seriously be wasting their time. Also there's a 300 game limit anyway. You couldn't have 1000 games unless it was multiple nands.

You forgot that for installing 300 games (seriously, who does that) you'd need a huge ass microsd first. There is a 200gb one yes, but again, who actually needs that many games at once?

Plus it's useless.

If I can run a custom ROM now I guess I could make something that runs a basic loader and then jettisons the executable part in favour of another and does the same for the data part. With the likes of hans I guess you could do something similar if it was followed to its logical extreme conclusion too. I never saw any of the DS stuff but I guess it was some kind of ARM9 swapper/selection stub which did a soft reset and then all the file pointers (and overlays) were renumbered/reordered so all the files could exist within the same directory tree, which would be annoying if you had a ROM which could not take a NDStool rebuild (some ROMs read files using file order, if you then had a rebuild that did not account for this...).

For this I would sooner make some kind of multiple NAND traversal, or do some kind of NAND window (think GB style memory bank controllers) technique though, especially if your only goal is to dodge limits and sort of share saves between the wallet stinger clone games.

I really don't see the point...yeah, it would be nice for Pokémon XY/ORAS, but for anything else there would be no point. Heck, I hardly even see the point with original DS flashcarts, as long as it supports multiple roms.

Like FAST said, there is nothing standing in the way of making a lightweight booter app and "embed" ROM's into it - it's just a silly thing to do. Stuff like this used to be popular on consoles with no menus (especially on the NES or the GB, with carts "switching banks" upon resetting the system or pressing a button combination) - now we have a stock method for selecting games, so merging them makes no sense.
