Hmm @Cyan I stumbled upon a small issue, I have a .txt file of The Legend of Zelda the wind waker, american version, but whne I prompt Ocarina, it refuses to show the cheats, to be precise the ID matches, my game disc ID is GZLE01 and the .txt ID is GZLE01 (not sure if it's an o or a zero) anyhow the file was attained from geckocodes.org,it has 97 codes, but it might at random show only one.

ah, yes, you are right.

I think the issue is the same than the music. All your paths are probably bad.
I think the setting file has been created badly, it might contains a bad character as "end of line".

Did you try reseting the settings?
delete the GXglobal.cfg file, it will reset all the settings and recreate all the paths. it should create proper path and line end character (\n not \r\n)

Tried this, it didn't work. Virtual Console games aren't loading at all, I just get a black screen. I got the names working right though. As I've pointed out, ALL the VC games have worked right before. They just randomly stopped working one day. I've tried multiple NAND dumps and I'm using rev1256.

Edit: This is the new screen I get when loading VC games:

Nintendont and Gamecube stuff works fine as well as Wii. My EmuNand is located in the root of my USB along with all my WADs. They're not on my SD because they take up too much room.

Edit2: Ok, this is really weird. Randomly, ever so often I will get the above message and I was getting it consistently before, but now all the VC games work again. I haven't changed literally anything.

Also, some of the N64 games just aren't working. Majora's Mask and Smash Bros mainly. Is that normal? Because I get a lot of Google results of people getting the same result.

Cyan, looking at my VC and Wiiware games on the emunand. Is there a possibility to have on the screen where you check the consoles to display games for, selections for the types of VC games. As in something like this shown below with check boxes before each category such as "VC N64", etc.

Emunand
VC N64
VC NES
VC SNES
VC Sega Genesis
WiiWare
ETC..

At this time it seems as though categories could accomplish this. But since the data is already there for the console type I thought this could be a little more integrated. Just a thought. Thanks for your time. Hope all is well. :)

What is needed for USBLoader GX to see and run GameCube games?

Currently with cfg-USB I had to do nothing beyond simply have installed a recent enough build of DIOS MIOS. But USBLoader won't even list the few GameCube games I have on my USB hard drive, let alone will launch them. Am I possibly missing something I should have on here?

Do you have Wii games on the same partition and does ULGX see them?
If the answer is Yes and then no, your hdd is probably not compatible.

If yes to both, then make sure you tell ULGX which GC loader your are using (DM, Devo or Nintendont), where you store the games and check the top button bar for an option to show GC games.

Oh, lot of questions today.
I thought I had a lot of alert for users who wanted to be beta testers for the wad batch install instead. but noone asked yet :p

N64 will not work.
Look at this compatibility list :
http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Wii_EmuNAND_Channel_Compatibility_List
This is not a loader issue, but a cIOS issue.
cIOS need an update to fix games.

there are methods to fix N64 and lot of incompatible Wiiware VC :
1. use a different cIOS version or base (look at the wiki)
2. use a different emuNAND method (neek instead of cIOS), which require more setup and more work from you.

I don't know why it suddenly started working again.
Something is wrong with your setup, or settings, or hardware.

@ngs428 :
yeah, I know. this is a long time request, but haven't look at it yet.
well the old requests are more "sort by consoles, then alphabetically" than display only one emulator type.
Like you said, with the category it can be done quite easilly and quickly. just select the console you want.

But I would recommend hiding the other consoles instead of displaying only one.
use the "All = X" which is like ALL but remove only the games set as X.
it will be faster to just "hide" some console instead of "viewing" 200 other categories one by one.

What is needed for USBLoader GX to see and run GameCube games?
hmm, nothing is needed, except selecting Gamecube in the 4th icon in the top menu? and a FAT32 partition.

insert a Gamecube disc, select install. it will appear in the loader.
Then you have 3 launch method :
- MIOS (to boot from disc or from DIOS MIOS/DIOS MIOS Lite)
- Devolution : you need to copy the devolution loader.bin in apps/gc_devo/ folder
- Nintendont : you need to copy the nintendont boot.dol in apps/nintendont/ folder

to select the mode, it's in settings>loader settings>gamecube mode.

... so qny ideas why wind waker txt file shows pnly one cose out of 97?
what? your keyboard is shifted by one letter !

- Did you try opening the txt file in notepad? maybe the file is bad or just empty !
- Did you try hitting "update the cheat list" in the ocarina menu ?

Sorry about that, posting from the tablet can get... anoying, will fix.

Yeah I did, the file is neither, and update the cheat list is buggy, some times it won't update (says the file does not exists) or if it does the file can come as empty (which is not, I did open it on my PC) or will only show a single code.

I uploaded the .txt taken from geckocode.org

don't worry, I'm just joking about the bad letters :p

yes, the file looks good.
I don't know why it's not loading the cheat list in the loader.
only zelda has that issue?

Are you sure the gameID is correct? the same region than your game?
Maybe your ISO is PAL and the path is NTSC?
GZLP01 instead of GZLE01 ?

sorry, it's only strange bugs you have, both BlazeHeatnix and you.
it seems random, and not usual. no other users have the same issue.

I figured out how to get them working, I launch through Neek instead.

ah, you already have neek setup, so all is fine.
there are also some wiiware not working (castevlania, etc.), look at the wiki page I gave you to know if it has issue with the cIOS mode and individually set the EmuNAND mode to Neek in the game's settings.
Only the Zelda games, TP does not, but ALTTP, OOT and MM do along WW.
very strange.
sorry, I don't know what to suggest to fix your issue.

Lol. I'm planning on setting up a Wii for a family member tomorrow. I should be able to test it out then. Your batch WAD install would come in handy.

The custom sound feature definitely needs some debugging. In addition to the path issue, randomly I will get this message when the loader switches tracks on its own, or when I switch tracks in the Sound menu:

y8FdYvT.jpg

I only get this error when I don't have the sound set to default. In the Sound menu, clicking "Play next" will play a random track in the directory, and the displayed trackname is an entirely different track than what's playing.

I tried changing it to play only one track instead of cycling them, but I get this same error sometimes as soon as USBGX loads, so it just has a problem with custom sound in general.

Also how do I boot back to USBGX when loading EmuNand stuff through Neek? Pressing "Wii Menu" in-game sends me to Neek, and I can't get back to USBGX from the Neek menu.

Cyan can go into more detail but I believe that when exiting a game through neek it has to reboot the console. So the easiest way to do it (and the way I have it set up) is to go into PriiLoader if you have it installed and set it up so it boots into USB Loader GX on startup. This way now when you exit a game that was launched using neek it will take you back into USB Loader GX.

I already had that setup, it's not doing that. I don't have USBGX in Neek, if that helps.
I'm not home right now but I believe in the settings where you tell it to use neek there is a "return to" option below that. I think one of the options there will cause the Wii to restart when exiting a game. If that doesn't work then you will have to wait for me to get home and I'll look at my settings.

The only method to exit neek is to reboot the console.
There are channels you can install to do that, they are just rebooting the wii.
Usually, that "reboot channel" has titleID "NK2O".

USBLoaderGX checks if you have that channel installed on your emuNAND when you autoboot a game, and "return to" NK2O when you exit the game, which automatically reboot the console instead of going into neek system menu.
Then, if you have priiloader set to autoboot the loader, it will looks like it's automatically returning to the loader when exiting a channel launched using neek.

You can find some "NK2O" reboot channels here :
https://code.google.com/p/custom-di/downloads/list
Any of the 4 wad channels should work.
install one of them on your EmuNAND

Note: for vWii users, exiting neek also reboots the console (WiiU) and not just the vWii mode.
so it's sometime better to not use the "return to" feature if you plan to launch another channels from neek when exiting a game, it will stay in neek for you to select a different channel.
I will have to fix the missing displayed banners on vWii emuNAND. I don't know yet if it's a neek2o issue or an install issue in the loader's wad manager.

I was looking for the batch installer feature too a few days ago. At this point check out showmiiwads. Simple program. Latest version is 1.4. It will batch install wads very well.

https://code.google.com/p/showmiiwads/downloads/list

Cyan, I don't really see the need for a batch installer built in to the loader anymore. Showmiiwads is simple and effective.

My request from a few weeks ago to add the console type to the games list that is generated by clicking on the game count would still be nice.
