Apple So I got an iPod. What the hell am I supposed to do with this thing?

It was given to me as a gift; it's the blue 32GB one that got released this August(?).

I've been playing around with it, and Siri is fun to annoy, but beyond that...

What am I supposed to do with it? I have an Android phone I use all the time, and apparently the iPod is "much more powerful". But at the moment it seems to just kind of do...the same stuff as my phone. And it has half the storage capacity (32GB vs 64 on my phone).

Any suggestions for it? Are there emulators for this that can utilize its capabilities?

I mean, it's a lovely color. Would rather it not be a paperweight

It's an iPod, usually you'd use it to listen to music, I'd assume...

If you're not into the Apple ecosystem of iTunes, iOS, et cetera, it's pretty much useless to you. Personally I have a Rockbox'd iPod Classic 5th gen with the HDD exchanged for a SD card adapter and love that thing.

See if there's an available jailbreak. IF there isn't, I'm sure there's a paid service that can install some apps not available in the app store like GBA4iOS.

Other than that, it's a good device for music.

I mean, there're a handful of good games that are on iOS that aren't on Google Play; most of them are ports and available on other systems, though, with the exception of the watered-down version of 999 and the only legally available English version of Shin Megami Tensei.

There's also some stuff that was much simpler for me on a jailbroken IOS9 than on Android 5.1, although the current Android phone I have is apparently unrootable by current methods. To be fair most of it mattered more as a matter of it being my phone (as opposed to a secondary media device), but I had a much better setup for weather on the lockscreen and a more robust important-only email notifier that worked across half a dozen accounts at once.

If all else fails, just lock it down with a good PIN or something and load up the 28GB or so of usable space with porn. Secure and discreet ultraportable porn device.

I'd probably just use it for hosting crap if I had anything I needed to host. Either that or sell it. Jailbroken, it might fetch a couple more dollars than usual. Not sure if those things are hard to jailbreak or not.

Ah, nice. I didn't know if it was still that simple. I haven't touched an iDevice in... oh probably seven years. They aren't common where I'm from.

Yeah, it didn't get as much exposure or attention as I expected, and it's a shame that we likely won't get II/If even though there're Japanese iOS versions of them (just like we never got a localized Android version of SMT). I suppose all the Persona fans who complained whenever people claimed that Persona <X> wasn't a 'real' SMT game didn't really care to support non-Persona games.

I use my ipod to listen to music when I'm running as it's significantly smaller than my phone. Other than that it collects dust.

Lol, mine is bricked. I got a bit too ambitous with the file manager app.
