I hope this is what your asking for

-6U

You might not be able to launch rxTools from the web browser.

If that's the case you'll need a DS flashcart and install the mset exploit (is as easy running a DS file like any rom).

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Try doing it as the video shows, if rxTools fails to boot then you'll need the DS Flashcart.

To avoid updates, simply don't put the system to sleep while it is online (it downloads the update but it doesn't install it).

You haven't screwed up anything it is like that.

i just bought my first new 3ds and it's Firmware is 10.3.0-28u, and i have a few questions to make:

1) I would like to know if with Sky3ds i could emulate Cubic ninja to use ninjhax 2.5.

2) Also i also would like to know if i want to play online games what would i need to do (with ninjhax already installed) to make it possible again.

3) i could use some kind of cards, like r4, to play old gba/snes games without the need to homebrew?

thanks!

1: Yes, but wait for the Orange button version to be released.
2: If you're using cartridges they'll just work, if using Sky3DS you'll need a private header and to inject it into each of your roms (read the "everything under the Sky3DS" thread).
3: The best DS flashcart is the DSTwo, it's the only one to let you play GBA and SNES roms, but if you only wanted DS games (and GB/GBC) an R4 is fine as long as you double check it will work on your firmware. (DSTwo will definitely work on the latest firmware).

Which is the best guide to go by to use PowerSaves Pro and load up 3DS Homebrew? I am using a n3ds running Ver. 10.3.0-28U (I found one on Youtube uploaded by OperationiDroid, although I'm not sure if it is a good source or guide to follow.) I recently pick up the PowerSaves Pro from Amazon =)

Are there decent DS, SNES, GBA Emulators that run pretty stable on the n3ds for 3ds Homebrew Userland?

I mainly want to play games like Pokemon, Earthbound and LOZ series.

Is there a difference between the Homebrew Software Ninjhax 2.5 using Cubic Ninja and the OOT Method using PowerSaves for 3DS Homebrew? Or is that Ninjhax as well?

I thought there was only one version of Nintendo 3DS Mode Homebrew, just different methods of achieving that.

this is what 3ds mode homebrew gets you [Tutorial]The Homebrew Launcher Emulators all-in-one Noob's Guide (SNES/GB/GBC/GBA/NES) . . . so no ds roms unless you buy/have a ds mode flashcard

. . .idk but i would follow the instructions as written by oothax's creator
Installation
The recommended way to install oot3dhax is with either sploit_installer(https://github.com/smealum/sploit_installer), which is included with the homebrew starter-kit(https://smealum.github.io/3ds/), or by writing save-images with a gamecard save dongle for example.

Raw save-images which can be written to the gamecard savedata flash are contained in the oot3dhax release-archive. The "saveimages" directory is for raw 0x20000-byte saveimages, while "saveimages_powersaves" is for Datel Powersaves. Those directories contain two sub-directories, each for a different cardid set. If you don't know what the cardids for your gamecard are(these are included with what are commonly called "gamecard-unique headers"), just try either directory until one of them works without the game triggering a savedata-corruption error at boot. These directories then contain sub-directories for each game region. The saveimage files under those region directories have the same filename as the payload contained in the savedata, you can use the filename from this to determine which saveimage filename to use:https://smealum.github.io/3ds/#otherapp

Before using the "saveimages" directory, you should verify that your savedata backup filesize matches the filesize from the files from that directory.

Instructions for using with Datel Powersaves:

  • 1) Backup your gamecard savedata with Powersaves, even if you don't want to keep that savedata.
  • 2) In Windows Explorer, goto "C:\Users\YourUsername\Powersaves3DS".
  • 3) Copy the saveimage you selected from the saveimages_powersaves directory in the release-archive as described above, to this Powersaves3DS directory.
  • 4) Rename your backup save to a different filename.
  • 5) Rename the oot3dhax saveimage to the filename which the backup save had originally.
  • 6) Use Powersaves to restore the save.
For reading/writing the savefile(this can be any save0X.bin file) with ctrclient-yls8, for gamecard:

  • Reading save00.bin: ctrclient-yls8 --serveradr={ipadr} "--customcmd=directfilerw 0x567890B1 0x1 0x1 0x4 0x18 0x1 0x0 2F007300610076006500300030002E00620069006E000000 @out.bin"
  • Write save00.bin: ctrclient-yls8 --serveradr={ipadr} "--customcmd=directfilerw 0x567890B1 0x1 0x1 0x4 0x18 0x7 0x14dc 0x0 2F007300610076006500300030002E00620069006E000000 @input.bin"
  • Write payload.bin: ctrclient-yls8 --serveradr={ipadr} "--customcmd=directfilerw 0x567890B1 0x1 0x1 0x4 0x1a 0x7 {payloadsize} 0x0 2F007000610079006C006F00610064002E00620069006E000000 @payload.bin"
  • Read payload.bin: ctrclient-yls8 --serveradr={ipadr} "--customcmd=directfilerw 0x567890B1 0x1 0x1 0x4 0x1a 0x1 0x0 2F007000610079006C006F00610064002E00620069006E000000 @out.bin"

I'm having a bit of a problem.

I don't know if it's a problem with the sky3DS or the application to get the backup games onto my card. I deleted a few backup games and now I can't write to the card. Whenever I put the micro SD into my PC it says I need to format it,and when I try to write to the card it won't do it. I have tried downloading the application again(Runing it as administrator.) and getting a new template but nothing works.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

So, I'd been hoping to get a flashcard for my o3DS this Christmas but my wife went and updated it to 10.0.0 leaving Gateway a no-go. I happened to look at the chart and saw that Sky3DS still works with this firmware, but isn't region free which is a big thing for me.

Is there any way for me to make my o3DS region free with Sky3DS, like using the Cubic Ninja trick if I can get my hands on a copy? And assuming it does work, is it a simple affair of setting things up?

You won't need a copy of Cubic Ninja, you can use a rom of it on your Sky.

Ah, that's good. So regardless of my 3DS' firmware I should be able to use a Sky3DS + the Cubic Ninja thing to play English and Japanese NDS and 3DS games? Is there some step-by-step guide I can look at before I make the purchase?

Yep, have a look here: http://smealum.github.io/3ds/ by the way NDS games are region free, so you can always play Japanese NDS games without needing anything extra. It's the 3DS games that need help to be region free.

I have Rxtools running have an unlinked emunand and sysnand.

Sysnand is running firmware 7.2.0-17U

tried getting the profile exploit running so i could launch without an internet connection, but the system just crashes and reboots back into sysnand when i go into the profile.

I can still get things running using the rxtools website just fine, but will be without internet for an extended period in the near future, so would like to get some way to launch into emunand without active internet.

Use sysupdater with rxTools Dev Mode and update to 9.2

Then setup Menuhax 2.0 and Ctrbootmanager.

*Gateway cost money and CFW doesn't.
*CFW can play GBA & DSiware and Gatewait can't.
*CFW can use any entrypoint, including Menuhax which is possibly the best entrypoint so far... and Gatewait can't (lack of support).

The only benefit Gateway has over CFW is that it can use .3ds roms, while CFW only use .cia installed games.

Thanks, so basically gateway cost money while provide no extra benefits? (as i google .cia installed games can be easily rip from any .3ds room right?)

If FW 9.2 is no longer a concern, do i still need to find machine with like below FW 9.5 or 9.9... to able to install CFW or they work with any FW version now?
