Do homemenu built-in screenshooting work for you? (Y+Up for upper screen and Y+Down for lower)

You can use the built in screenshot function (may have to update your emuNAND)
If you ever want to take screenshots of anything (including games) the best way would be using NTR-CFW.

They'd be the same resolution regardless
Built-in home menu screenshot feature seems to take lower quality screenshots though.

I don't remember, actually.
There's terrible compression artifacts though so most likely.
