System Shock 3 Revealed

A countdown clock on developer Otherside Entertainment's website set to reveal System Shock 3 has gone and done so ahead of time.

The timer is set for 5 days from now, at which point it will unveil a sequel to Looking Glass Studios' cyberpunk shooter series.
This is good news for fans of the franchise, of which the last entry made it to PC back in 1999. Otherside is made up of several members of the defunct Looking Glass team.

Neat. This along with the remake of System Shock 1 and the System Shock 2 re-release is bound to get some of the younger people back into this excellent series.

Which would be me. I was far too poor back in the 90s to have anything capable of running system shock, so I'm looking forward to trying out the re-make/re-release.

THIS
IS
AWESOME

MY BODY IS READY

I loved System Shock 2 - truly a masterpiece, which is comparable only to Deus Ex. BioShock is nice, but it was dumbed down compared to SS2.

Once this comes out, you won't be able to unstick me from the screen, you panting, sweating meatbags! S.H.O.D.A.N IS BACK, BABY!

Never played any System Shock games, should I play number 1 before 2? I can handle the graphics of 2 as is, but 1 looks so bad to me in terms of graphics.

I am cautiously hyped.
Are there any of the original designers and developers involved?
I just hope this won't turn out like the latest Syndicate game

Otherside Entertainment is pretty much the remnants of Looking Glass Studios, created by Paul Neurath who also pretty much founded Looking Glass Studios.

Wasn't there some copyright stuff that didn't allow them to use the System Shock name?
Ken Levine (Guy who made Bioshock infinite, for those of you who don't know) tried desperitely to make a sequel to System Shock 2, but couldn't due to the fact that the patents were not his. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing how this folds out. I'll try to keep my hype contained.
I'll also leave these here:
