What if we connect a circuit board to a USB port of the WiiU, that "emulates" a GCN controller adapter and use that to "send" an exploit into the system?
You called using hardware, that's all, which has been done for many past systems. This IOSU method doesn't "'emulate' a GCN controller adapter" or "'send' an exploit into the system."

Nah I'm done dealing with him, I just find his method completely blerp.

Also he has illegal SDK tools on his github -- might want to remove those abood

anyways I'm finished, have with wiiu'ing

Oh, and WiiU news. The Arduino thing will probably not be required for the IOSU. We're mostly using it for testing USB.

So if i understood, iosu is going to be achiveed through an usb dongle of some kind?

Psjailbreak for wiiu confirmed?
nope they seem to be using it for debugging of sorts, the end product should only need a ipod or calculator :P .....jokin no the final result should be dongle free

also i would go with the name tr U bl U :P

It's more like:
USB thingy=calculator
Exploit=the result

As you don't necessarily need a calculator to find the result of an equation, the Wii U is the same thing, it seems like you don't need the USB thingy to have the exploit.

yeah it was just a joke as the PS3 jailbreak dongle got replicated using a ipod or calculator instead of the dongle

Just checked up on the Arduino.. I had no clue those could run Python, C#, etc. when it came to programming languages... I thought those was basic FPGA boards using VHDL... Now my skills in VHDL these past 2-3 years seems even more useless currently <_<

The PS3 dongle was "easy to replicate to other devices" (the original commercial dongle was probably still a nightmare to reverse engineer, however, due to anti-RE measures), as they used a bug in the PS3 USB driver... Who afterall does not own a USB device (capable of running code though - I guess that limits it)?
You DID need some USB device capable of executing code though, else you could not use that exploit in.

Anyway, so if they say an Arduino might be needed (but hold your horses as is said for now), then its not sure there is any way around, so don't get worked up about stuff such as "then its only a matter of time, before we have an exploit without an USB thingy!!".

Who knows, it might be because its necessary to dump the IOSU (through hardware-means) from whatever chip its stored on to get some console-specific information.

None the less, more info means more power and the odds for everything homebrew-wise does increase, whenever progress is made!

EDIT: Too tired to write proper English, goddamn exams x_x

i am stuck with my 5.5 wii u and will not UPDATE IT AGAIN ! LoL ,

i will wait even if for many months, and hopefully we will get a HDD support by then. (HDD support with loading wii u backups off the HDD is what i mean !)

dont ruin the fun! its just a debate

if you can't hold out waiting maybe look at selling your wii u and re-investing to try get a lower firmware

Things are looking up a bit...

Hykem could release his IOSU work with the next few months
then there's the other IOSU work that marionumber1 and others are working on with the USB device used for current testings, but this is only approx 10% complete.

Hopefully Hykem gets this released, as I feel once we have IOSU Kernal in the wild, emuNAND and the rest of the good stuff will follow.

That's what I think. Once the IOSU stuff is out there'll be USB Loaders, emuNAND, ability to auto block updates somehow and ability to turn off format warnings for vWii HDDs without the need of using U-Stealth.
