Hello. Thanks for creating such an useful tool, but every time I try to format my 4GB card, it gives me the message: Invalid partition type: 04. I tryed fat, fat32, but doesn't work at all.

This could be useful for those with a DS flashcart without a gateway. What we really need is a launcher that can launch launchers XD
I didn't understand what multi emuNAND would be useful too and then I saw this comment(please explain what it can be used too if you think I still didn't get it)

what did he mean? if I have my old NDS R4 cart can I use it on my 3ds?(don't have a gateway so that will be pretty awesome) if so how?

I listed a few reasons why in the other thread
1 emunand per region, or just to keep it clean and make it "seem" like it's all legit .cia to not raise suspicion during official tournaments/gatherings especially if homebrew and piracy is frowned upon in your area.... And the list goes on. If anything, one could also need more than one just because they can.

So does this mean we can have multiple emunands on the same card? A friend of mine has 3 kids who share the same 3DS. Multiple emunands would be like multiple profiles, so each could have their own game saves, friends, miiverse, etc.

I think it's possible with CTRBootManager. It can also launch .3dsx files. I set it up on my brother's 3DS and it's working perfectly so he can easily switch between rxTools, Gateway or Homebrew Menu.

Hey, quick question, I set up a virtual machine with windows xp in order to run this program, but it won't open. I'm on Mac OS X. Does it need a higher windows version for it to run?
Go to parallels.com to get an Windows emulator which you can use on your Mac in order to run this program.

Could this be used to create multi emunands that can be booted separately with RxTools or maybe via CTR Boot Manager with labeled titles like

1.(Emunand Title1)
2.(Emunand Title 2)
3.(HB Launcher Title)
Ect....

I'm fairly sure it's possible, I've made it work with Cakes - every time you wanna switch the EmuNAND you have to select a different patch when booting. You can check this post for more info: Dual Nand POC

What if say... I want 4 separate emunands (more than 2) and access to sysnand and HB launcher. Maybe possible...?

I need help, im using the 3DS multinand and i get that error http://s9.postimg.org/l7boa88vz/3ds34213123_jpg31232.jpg , http://s29.postimg.org/dny2kcr5j/3ds34213123.jpg , the sd opens on my pc normally, and i disconnect all the other stuff like pen drive and external hard drive, what i have to do? Sorry for my english

If the SD card doesn't have a valid flashcard string in its MBR, it won't be used as an EmuNAND drive. You may want to check that with a hex editor, like HxD.

Im getting the same error. how to fix it? can you dumb it down a bit?
Basically it means that if all else fails you're going to have to format emunand via gateway's launcher.

What he advised you to do is to check and see if your micro SD has a valid flashcard string in its MBR (Which means if it's a valid emunand or not). How to check is beyond my capacity as of now but you can check it. I recommend you just find out how to get gateway's launcher running on your 3DS and to format your emunand that way.

Hi. First of all thanks for your work in this excellent program.

I have a problem.

I made sysnand backup three times with decrypt9 in my new 3ds 9.20.

Always happens same error in the start format button just after the nand.bin is selected. Invalid partition type 04.

It will say that if you chose the wrong system...ie old3ds or N3DS selection at top.

At least Linux doesn't contain spyware than what Windows has.

    @SylverReZ, cuz of lag?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, No. Whenever you use the internet on Windows, Microsoft collects personal data and installs bloatware that isn't necessarily needed, such as Edge.

I recall @impeeza mentioned some trick about not having bloatware when installing windows where you set up your country to "world" or smh like that

Yes, you can debloat the operating system, but in some cases for me it just reinstalls them.

@Xdqwerty yes, when you are installing Windows on the first steps you are asked for your current location, you MUST to select «international» so no bloatware is installed, because the bloatware is location based. if this night I have some time I will setup a VM and take screenshots.
