Hacking How to create NNID without updating firmware?

I'm trying to play Badge Center on my New 3DS emunand, but it requires an NNID. But when I try to create an NNID, it requires that I update my firmware. But I don't think Gateway supports higher firmwares on New 3DS?

If I had another OG 3DS with an NNID on it, made an emunand on it, is there any way to use that SD (and emunand) on my new 3DS? trying just gives me black screen

The emunand is console-specific.
(That and I'm not sure an O3DS emunand could work on a N3DS anyway.)
