Hardware Ask: replacing ps4 hdd, backup/restore

Hi there,
I just want to upgrade my PS4 hdd to 2TB... But before upgrading I want to be sure if I change my hdd I loss everything that I bought on psn ???
I mean I have many digital games on my account... Yes I know I own these games.. But my question is I have to redownload that games after upgrading ????
What back ups do for me ??? If I full backup my system. After upgrading my hdd can I restore games ???? Without redownloading????

Once you take out the hdd of the ps4 you will have to re-download everything again. The only way around this I would imagine would be to connect both of the hdd to a computer and make a mirror image of the old hdd to your new hdd.

We are buying games from store normally but here clwe cant find any sony services here... infact most of games we can buy before its official release date like black ops3 ac syndicate and so on... Our internet is not as fast as your.. I think fastest internet in our land is 12Mbps.. Its slow but not so slow. I dowloaded need for speed 15GB for about 8 hours...
No we do not have services like walmarts before.. But now we have some services like boombeene, boomex, pala mall and Xara.. They do things like walmart but its new for us not much people using it right now... And as I said before I am from kurdistan state... Not exactly Iraq... Kurdistan is country that divoded on five country, iraq, turkey, syria and iran...

U r much better than me bro.... We almost pay 45-59$ per month for 5Mbps
And on some Cities they pay almost 45$ for 12Mbps... Internet in our land is very slow but still better than previous years...
But.... Wait! What did u just said ??? Downloading 1GB in only 10 seconds ??? MAN we count ours for downloading 1GB ... Black ops 3 on ps4 was 40GB (i think) it took me to wait about 2 nights and two days untill download finished


But another thing... Our internet is unlimited

But your internet is still better than us... Ur internet is very fast and thats good....
Lets talk about upload speed.. Mine is 120Kbps hahaha... We only can upload images.. It takes time to video to be uploaded

10$? I'm guessing you're with Videotron right? If so then i am with Videotron as well and i do wish they would just move their butt and upgrade all the connection speed to something that's really worth it.

Yea me too, in USA, some states have the Google Fiber, which is around 1-2Gbps as download speed.
But as @Ethan2 said, there are far worse connection around the world, like in Iraq, where he lives, where 12Mbps is the best you can get.

You don't have to re-download content, you can simply use the Restore function upon switching the HDD:

Your PlayStation content is account/console-locked, not HDD-locked - it can be restored to the system without any issues once you've installed the system software onto the new HDD.
