The installer is not needed
It may not be needed but you would be dumb to not put it on your sdcard for future use regardless....

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Here the save file for people who own the O3DS 10.3U.
Alright, so I'm going to assume you haven't read anything on this post, as I've stated now multiple times, ALL O3DS/N3DS save files for 9.9-10.3U are in folders on my original post

Yeah I saw it earlier, thanks, too bad nobody is going to credit me for posting the original powersave method in the first place, I spent days looking for alternative methods to get homebrew working after browserhax stopped working. Posted my method and now almost 2 weeks later its being made official and nobody will credit my finding this method (sorry I don't mean to whine about it, but it kinda sucks I was happy to have contributed something to the homebrew community)

Hey guys I've basically just tried to use the powersave file thats included in the OP but when I go to load up the game, my save file says it's corrupted and gets deleted immediately I've noticed on the back of the cart it says AQEEX10091. Not sure if anybody has a powersave file for this specific cart but the powersave file won't work for this cart at all

Alright so if your save is corrupted, what we need to know is the firmware your 3ds is running and which model of 3ds you have, the files in my OP are labelled as they are to show which firmware the save is for, all of the are (U) gamecard saves and because your card says AQEE that means its the (U) game card, so that means it will work with the saves. It would help if you told us the steps you went through when restoring the save to your game to also be able to find the problem in which the save became corrupted

My new 3ds is on 10.2.0.28U Basically what I do is erase the game from using the ABXY buttons, start a new save file and save the game. Now I put the cart into the powersave device, I'll backup the new save file that I just made, copy the oothax.bin file for the game over to the powersaves folder, rename it the same as my save file I've just made then click restore. When I put the game into the system and launch it, I just get a message that pops up that my save file that I've just transfered over from the powersave is corrupted and is being deleted. So I'm left with no save files. I just want to get homebrew working again. I've had the worst luck trying to get smashhax working and now this isn't working -_-..

Alright so just to confirm you are using this file below (I'm just uploading the save directly from my local folder so there shouldn't be any need to rename the file but if you do make sure you keep the (N3DS_10.2U_hax25) in brackets at the end cause that's the name that shows up on the backup) there's the possibility that you were using the wrong save, also have you recently re installed the hax 2.5 files from smea's homebrew starter kit? if you haven't I would highly advise because it that might also be the reason why its not working as all my saves are made for the 2.5 hax. I've heard of this happening to some people before, though from what you've explained in the steps there shouldn't be any issues providing you have all the necessary files, according to someone who posted recently you don't need the OoThax_Installer in your /3ds folder on your sdcard, but I would still advise you to have that incase another update happens and you need to update your console, at least then you can update the save payload to your game yourself, But you should have all the other files for homebrew prior to this anyways as you've had it working before. Now that all being said, I wouldn't worry about deleting your save files again, its not necessary if your restoring from a powersave backup as it just overwrites anything you have saved anyways, so just take the file I posted below, put that same thing in your local powersaves folder and restore it from there and tell me if it worked or not.

Well when I put the file in the powersaves folder that you just sent me, it doesn't show up. Any ideas on why this is happening?

I just figured out why it always corrupts. it seems like when I go to copy over whatever save file I've placed in the powersaves folder wont show up, so when I go to do a backup and re-name it whatever the backup that I just created corrupts the save file. I pretty much took my sd card and erased everything on it and re-downloaded the 2.5 HBL. So pretty much it's because I can't select whatever save file I have in the powersaves folder without re-naming it. I'm still having issues with coping over the save file but that's prety much the reason why it erases the save file each and every time. I still can't get this thing working at all. Please help a brotha out here lol. Basically I can't even use files I've just put in the powersaves folder. It just tells me that theres nothing there when I really do have files in that folder

yo what the heck is going on with this?? I've been following the instructions and still nothing. My gamesave still keeps getting corrupted :nayps3:. I'm about to return the smashbros along with the OOT cart because I already got it on the e-shop nd powersave I bought at gamestop and just order a sky3ds for the cubic ninja ROM because the amount of time and money I've spent trying to get this 3ds back to running homebrew is a fucking nightmare already

is there a way to do this without a powersave?
not unless you somehow have another way to access homebrew to install this the normal way,

I wish I could help more :( I know originally when I first had the save that @zoogie gave me for 10.2U the save never showed up on the application, so I made a new backup called "backup1" then in the folder with all the saves I copied the whole name of the backup1 file aside from those words (backup1).bin and renamed the save AQEE-randomcharactershere-(date information here)_(N3DS_10.2U_hax2.5).bin and then it loaded in the powersave application when I restarted it... from there I just loaded the game to the hacked save file and pressed A when it started up and boom, homebrew activated. the 10.2U save file i have there is the exact same one zoogie gave me in the beginning so there shouldnt be any problems with the save itself, unless you somehow do have another region OoT game even though the back of the game says AQEE on it? It's a mystery but I'll do what I can to find out more to help you.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! actually snagged a copy of Cubic Ninja on e-bay for $40 shipped and returned all the stuff I bought at gamestop. Lets see if that gives me any issues lol

Hey, sorry. I really do give you full credit to you since I didn't know anything about this exploit. I joined this thread and wanted to thank you for this. Right now I am still figuring out a way on how to make saves for the O3ds in the oot saves. I wanted to try something new.

thanks to all those that have helped to put together the oot3dhax powersave exploit. i've been able to recover homebrew access on my 10.2-28U system

ight gimme a few a sec ill change the save payload

*Edit* @BreakHisLegs There you go O3DS save file for 10.3, basically I just reinstalled the exploited save with your firmware version instead, doesn't matter what 3ds I have, as long as the exploit is for your specific system xD
This one worked for me! I'm not sure if it was because I was using a save not compatible with my cart, because it loaded the game, it just crashed when i loaded the hax. Oh well, this one works.
