First of all backup your save file for Ocarina of Time, and which console(new 3ds or old 3ds) and firmware are you running?

I have an old 3ds XL, firmware 10.2.0.28U.

EDIT:
I don't know if this is necessary, but I added my save file to this post.

Ok, now you need to download the Homebrew Starter Kit if you haven't already, and extract it to the root of your SD card.

- Next, download the correct oot3dhax prepatched save file for your console and firmware, since you're on o3ds 10.2.0-28U, you can try this save: http://www.mediafire.com/download/kbqm8t5tr1s7b3p/oot3dhax+save.bin (Thanks to reddit user dreadwolf96 or, assuming it's the same person, @dreadwolf96).
Keep in mind there are different oot cart versions, so you just have to hope that this save file is compatible with yours.

- Now, put you oot3d cart on your 3ds and open it. Important: Keep holding A B X Y buttons, when asked to erase all save data, do it.

- Put your 3ds on your PowerSaves dongle. Rename the save you just downloaded to the same as your other backed up save files, for example: My save files start with AQEP44ef8739_2015-11-09_14-22-52_(Name of save).bin
Open up your PowerSaves and restore the downloaded save file to your oot cart.

- Boot up oot on you 3ds, choose the save file with the weird name, and when you are ingame, press either A or click one of the menu buttons, such as Items.
OoThax should now run and the homebrew launcher should open up if you did everything right.

If you get corrupted save file, it means your cart is incompatible with this save file.

I don't know if my files are correct either, here are a few images of what is in my SD card, I don't know if I did it right at all.
When I start up my game, i see the idleway save slot, I start it, press A and text appears. I think it says something like "The homemenu robbin is ready" or something - not sure, then it boots me out of my game.

That means the save you used isn't the correct one for your console+firmware. Try a different save file.

I've tried your instructions twice, just to make sure I didn't miss anything.
I get the same message and am booted back out to my home screen.

You'll have to try and find a different save file. I can try and patch my oot with the o3ds 10.2U save, but I don't believe it'll work because my cart is the european version.
Other than that, there's nothing else I can do for you.

I'll browse this thread for some more linked saves and I'll try them.
If you don't mind, I'd still like to try yours anyway, maybe it won't work, but I'd rather try than not.

Here it is, hope this works for you!

Here it is. Put the save in the directory C:\Users\(username)\Powersaves3DS

First, back up your save if you want to.
Then, delete all save data on OoT (Boot up OoT3D while holding A,B,X,Y at the same time until dialog pops up)

Finally, use Powersaves to restore the save I've provided you.

Load up the save (it should be under Slot 3), and interact with the game in anyway (open the items menu. I personally have had 100% success booting up the exploit doing that).

Please note that OoT3DHax does not work with Hax 2.5. I recommend installing menuhax with the new menuhax manager 2.0. It downloads the 2.5 payload straight from Smea's github.io.

Download: https://www.mediafire.com/?3onn2t334dn6t6t

If this works, I will make other saves for others :)

Edit: Make sure you have boot.3dsx and the 3ds directory on the root of your sd card. (download these from here: https://smealum.github.io/ninjhax2/starter.zip)
Your save file works for me (I also purchased my game near released), think you can make one for n3DS 10.2? Would be really helpful :)
Also which one of these (https://github.com/phase/oot3dhax_installer/releases) downloads should I download for hax2.1? or should I just download the latest one?

I'm glad my post about this has helped as many people as it has, getting the community together to help each other out to continue getting homebrew access after nintendo likes to screw us over with pointless updates

So Nintendo released a 10.3.0-28 update and it messed things up real bad. Now there's a check that makes it impossible to access anything that requires you to sign in with your NNID (including the e-shop, in-game DLC stores, Miiverse, Pokemon Shuffle, Pokebank) without being on the latest version, and there don't seem to be any homebrew changes on the way that will get around this. But on the bright side, OOTHax does work fine on the new version if we get OOT files with the 10.3 payloads.

It looks like the 10.3.0-28E saves (both New and Old) are in this other topic so those are already accounted for, but we still need to get some 10.3.0-28U saves... can anyone help us out?

i will be uploading my save file for the newest payload version 10.3U very shortly (been busy playing Yokai Watch to worry about Homebrew at this time xD)

I think I'm going to not update my system until everything is confirmed working.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

Thanks, it would be much appreciated.
How is Yokai Watch, by the way? Is it really good?
Please let me know if IgnisFlame's save works for you, I'm going to assume we have the same copy of OOT and system firmware since my save worked for you. Thanks in advance.

Alright, This save file should work for 10.3U, if you wanna test it and let me know before i update myself (as i only installed the save with the new payload atm)
And on another note Yokai Watch is Awesome :3 it has kept me quite entertained

So I just install this save and then update to 10.3 like normal, right? I'll try it out now.
