Would it be possible to overclock pcfx to make games run faster? Or has anyone tried using HANS to overclock before launching it?
Use the fast forward function.
Also Mame 2000 should be substantially faster on o3DS. And faster on n3DS. It's probably the better version to use honestly. 2003/.78 don't improve compatibility in any games that will run at any sort of playable speed anyways.

Alright I've tried google and searching the threads and I am not getting any solid answers. No matter what emulator I launch I am getting the same error.
Code:
ERROR config couldn't find config at path sdmc:/retroarch/retroarch.cfg
I've tried everything and nothing seems to work

That's weird, the cfg should be created automatically unless it doesn't have write access (SD card dying perhaps? or the .cfg exists and is corrupt?). Does that happen with all nightlies? Hopefully someone more knowledgable has a better idea..

This may not be helpful but have u looked in ur sd in the retroarch folder and seen if the Config file exists? It should be there, if it is try deleting it and then running a retroarch emu. Its supposed to create a new one. Maybe if the file is there it got screwy somehow

I've deleted everything and started from scratch several times.
It doesn't seem to create any config files though.
I am using a 2DS on 9.9 with the latest *hack2.5

Are u using the latest retroarchs? I ask because when 2.5 came out I know alot of the retroarch emus were busted and an update came out like the next day that made them work

The folder in the latest build, "fb_alpha_libretro", is that CPS3?
The Full Core can run basically CPS1, 2, 3 and NeoGeo. Not sure of any others it will do

Config Files should be created when you run one of the RA Emulators in the following Directory
SD:RetroArch/

How does MAME 2000 runs on O3DS?

From my testing so far (10.1 o3DS), it actually runs pretty well! I'm testing the arcade version of Rygar and it fluctuates between 49-59 fps. The biggest issue I've found so far is that attempting to load one game after another isn't possible; instead of loading the next rom set, MAME 2000 will always reload the previous rom set, sometimes giving a "cannot initialize audio" error as well. The only solution is to exit Retroarch and reload if you want to play a different game.

quick edit: in case anyone's wondering, I'm getting 20 fps on Mortal Kombat.

I'm a bit confused on the usage of MAME at the moment. I've read in this thread about putting an XML in the .3dsx folder, but I want to confirm a few things before I do that first.

I'm running themehax 2.5 on an N3DS 9.9.0.26U, and when I load retroarch .3dsx MAME I get junk on the screen and no retroarch menu. I've also read something about launching through youtube, Smash, or something like that, but I'm unsure what that means.

On an another note, I've been running pcsx-rearmed with scph1001.bin and getting about 10-13 fps on Spyro. Would I get different speeds with different BIOS dumps?

Additionally, are there any tweaks or changes I should be taking advantage of to squeeze more out of the N3DS for homebrew?

Thanks for indulging me. I haven't done homebrew since Wii.

The SEGA CD emulator doesn't work on o3DS emunand 10.2, does it? Just thought I'd ask again as I didn't get a response the first time I asked, sorry if I'm being pushy. The front page mentions 9.2 and below, but is that emunand or sysnand? And why wouldn't this work on a higher emunand?
Not sure if it works on o3ds as I haven't tried it, but the 9.2 is for system nand as that is the firmware you need for cfw. The best speed you can get is from the cia version so install that and try.

No reason why the Sega CD shouldn't work, it doesn't use dynarec so it should work fine. No guarantees it will be playable, however.

Ah, thank you for the clarification. I wasn't sure whether it meant what you said, or meant that your emunand needs to be 9.2. Maybe the OP can edit the first post to clarify?

I'll give this a shot, hopefully I don't run into any issues! And hopefully I have enough space for Sonic CD..

EDIT: Sonic CD won't boot.. It's saying something about there not being enough refresh sample rates and requiring 4096 or something like that, then restarts my 3DS. I put a BIOS file in the required directory, but it is .md format. I could not find a .bin format BIOS. Any tips?

The Sega CD BIOS files need to be named as follows:

- us_scd1_9210.bin (US BIOS)
- eu_mcd1_9210.bin (EUR BIOS)
- jp_mcd1_9210.bin (Japan BIOS)

You should be able to rename your .md format BIOS accordingly and everything should work as it should :)

I found a bin BIOS. Sonic CD runs, just at a horrendous 12 fps. Someone told me it runs at 59 fps, do I need to change anything? They were using an n3DS and I'm on an o3DS. I'm guessing the n3DS is just more powerful which allows for better emulation.

Also, is it possible to inject Sonic CD in anything, or does injecting only work for Genesis and Game Gear so far (as far as SEGA consoles are concerned)?

What's the point of "confirming" games you know will get released. Like Nintendo "confirming" a Zelda sequel. "We can't be sure Nintendo is working on a new Zelda game, or if a new Zelda game will ever be released, until they officially confirm it."
