I made a HANS shortcut to the microSD Management app on New 3DS, for those who prefer it instead of FTP. Now you don't have to exit homebrew to change files! To exit you'll have to use the L-R-DOWN-B shortcut after you've closed the connection.

(Sorry about the phone pic, screenshotting with the home button wasn't working for me...)

If it's not clear this if for NEW 3DS ONLY

Thanks to @smealum for help with the XML.

Mind making a quick guide on making these shortcuts? I've been wanting to make one to Neo X.

Well Neo X is a romhack right? This doesn't apply any sort of hack, it's literally just a shortcut to HANS with some preconfigured settings. I can give a quick explanation on how to do that if that's what you want, but I don't know too much about the romhacking aspect.

Yeah, that's what I mean. I just want to load Pokemon X with the romfs and code settings applied from a shortcut.

Hey, it works! Thanks for the information, it didn't with region 4. I wonder if other applets work too.

EDIT: well, microsd management isn't an applet... anything home-menu related crashes with yellow screen.

This will be soooo useful

Well I'm not positive on the romfs section but I believe you just place that in the hans folder somewhere? Assuming you have all that set up you just need to have a .smdh file for the icon (i use http://usuaris.tinet.cat/mark/smdh_creator/) and then configure an .xml file to tie it all together. Download my attachement in the OP to see what I mean, the XML format is pretty straightforward. You'll need to get the title id for the game, which can be done by loading the game in HANS. You also need to set the mediatype in the XML file, 0 is for nand, 1 is for SD, and 2 for cartridge. Hope that was helpful. BTW, I believe someone already made some pokemon romhack shortcuts, so it might be worth searching

Glad you like it!

Weird that the home-menu applets show through HANS but don't run, though I haven't tried them myself.

Thanks a bunch dude, that should make it a lot easier. Didn't even realize that somebody might've made shortcuts already, and a google search brought them up instantly.

Gotta thank you for the mircosd management shortcut though, it's a lot more simple and fast compared to FTPBrony.

It crashes with JPN N3DS, changing "region : 1" in hans/titles/msd_manage.txt to "region: 0" fixes it.

Btw, you can use my hbl mod to create HANS shortcuts for any installed title: http://gbatemp.net/threads/homebrew-launcher-with-sorting-and-folder-support.396793/

Might be useful to someone.

That's awesome, I need to check out your launcher

just unzip into 3ds folder?

Yup, if you have HANS installed that should work fine.

It crashes with JPN N3DS, changing "region : 1" in hans/titles/msd_manage.txt to "region: 0" fixes it.

Good to know, assuming that doesn't break on USA region I'll update the OP to have that set already. Thanks!

i need help I add the file in my sd card and I don't see it in homebrew

You need to be on *Hax 2.5 and have HANS installed (it's in the start pack). I also don't know if this will work with other launchers yet, only the stock one.

Mine crashes with my European New 3DS XL. :( Can you update for EU region systems too, please?
