Until i don't see a final stable version of libctru which works with ANY released thing and will work with ANY future released thing, i probably not update anyone of my projects.
I agree with most of your criticisms, and it's probably best to wait it out for a more stable ctrulib.

Good steps are being made with documentation and stability, though. My biggest problems have been with the hacky hb launching mechanism (using 3dsx format and *hax). I went back to using CIA now and it has much more pleasant. But CFWs are evil to most 3ds hackers, so we're stuck with them putting all their efforts into crazy payload hacks with inconsistent performance and broken services. Not entirely their fault though, with exploit potentials being much different than PSP scene.

Eh, Smea has always displayed a bit of an egotistical and flippant attitude in his tweets.
He's accomplished a lot, and he has to deal with idiots pestering him all day, so I see why he's developed that approach, but he's hardly known for being the most diplomatic.
Yeah, I would totally understand, especially with idiots that don't know what they're doing. But to someone that he's talked to so nicely, I honestly didn't expect that short of a response, much less the kind of response he gave.

Hey people! I just updated my homebrew launcher with that new 2.5 update along with the different new hombrew in the pack (including CHMM2) and now i am getting error "152: cannot access exdata archive". I just never had that with the previous CHMM release. If someone could help me on this matter i would really appreciated it. The theme i am using are one that i created for myself that were working before update.

Also, when exiting CHMM2, i does not go back to homebrew launcher. Is it normal that i need to press the four magical button to unfreeze my 3ds (L+R+B+DOWN)?

My 3ds is --> New 9.9.0.26 US
My homebrew hack is --> IronFall 1.0

Seriously dude, read the thread. Don't just skip to the end and post your issues.

I wonder if he actually talked to rinne or just went out his own way like he always does

He got in touch with me through PM. Anyway the extdata write access problem is related to a lack on libctru used by lpp-3ds build used with CHMM2. I'm trying to understand how to fix sound issues now.

I've only managed to install themes using homemenu_exdatatool, I wonder what works there that doesnt works with CHMM2, its a drag to use exdatatool

If you want to use custom theme with themehax, you have to manually build themehax_payload with theme file.

To change theme, you have to build it again.

Set up environment (mingw, devkitarm, python 3.x .. etc) and build it from source :

https://github.com/yellows8/3ds_homemenuhax

make LOADSDPAYLOAD=1 USE_PADCHECK=0x200 ENABLE_LOADROPBIN=1 ENABLE_HBLAUNCHER=1 LOADSDCFG_PADCHECK=1 MENUROP_PATH=menurop_prebuilt THEMEDATA_PATH="decompressed regular theme body_LZ filepath"

This will take a LOT of TIME.

You have to decompress body_LZ.bin before building. (It is compressed with LZ11)
I wanna build it with my VPS and see how fast it does it xD

Let me know if you find something!
It's that computer that I use for building rxTools nightlies... 24 core XEON. It's not building tho.

root@LavanoidSVR:~/src# git clone --recursive https://github.com/yellows8/3ds_homemenuhax

Makefile:112: recipe for target 'all' failed
make: *** [all] Error 127

Edit: Got it building.

Edit2: Finished building everything.
