@mashers You got to update the OP for people who can't search through the thread..
Really. This was poor communication on everyone's part. Apparently the wallpaper thing has changed, yet the OP states it like it is. No one should be expected to trudge through 95 pages for something that they weren't even aware had changed.

Give mashers some slack, he has enough on his plate with the to-do list as it is, let alone trying to keep the first post updated, and responding to just about every post in this thread.

Yeah and the first post isn't always up to date instruction wise. Put it in the grid launcher folder that shows up on root. If you don't believe the people that are attempting to help you then please, be my guest and read through the thread that has the instructions right in it.

nope doesn't work i might be putting it in the wrong place i just put in the root of my sd right ?
"boot.3dsx" at the root of the SD card. you should put the [micro]SD card into your computer.

if it's not working, download the file again and extract it there.

if it's still not working, you could check the drive for errors (for Windows 7, might be similar past that)

if none of those work, you should back up everything on the drive, format it, and place the files back. (something I had to do once when this was happening)

Sorry that I forgot the update the original post with full details of a piece of software I am spending hundreds of hours working on for absolutely no reward other than personal enjoyment so you don't have to be inconvenienced by searching the thread or pressing the help button in the app.

@mashers What you've done here is just great most people would had just gave up. I remember seeing the first version of this and sorry but I did think this was going nowhere from the start but how wrong I was. For you to implement all these requests and continue doing this is remarkable. I salute you sir. After this is done I can see anything you do being the same as this, and with a constant persistence of keeping people happy . Thanks pal.

Some people have no respect and are just generally too lazy to do any kind of research about anything. And being grateful that you are doing this and adding so many many features to it? Just can't please everybody.

Gotta be happy with those few of us that appreciate having something like this. Heck, I have fun just trying it out and wish I knew how it worked so I could help even. Sadly I know almost nothing about it..

Hey, @mashers. Would it possible to have the "load titles in background" feature include a new option, in which they only start loading in when the titles icon is pressed? If the picture I'm trying to paint isn't clear, the existing options are to load the titles all at once when the icon is pressed (a loading screen), or to load the icons in the background as soon as the HBL launches (if the icon is pressed, there's no loading screen; you can see the pages increase as more titles are added). What I'm proposing is not to load the icons in the background as soon as HBL launches, but instead, load them when the icon is pressed (still no loading screen). If you return to the homebrew list grid, the background title loading would halt again, unless you go back to 3DS titles, where it would start up once again.

The reason I ask this is because - at least in my case - the crashing issue when titles are being loaded in the background only occurs when homebrew is launched. If you launch a 3DS title while titles are being downloaded, it boots up just fine. A feature like this would prevent the crashing issue that plagues myself and some other users, and still allows for the awesome titles loaded without a loading screen feature! Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Thanks guys. It's easy to get disheartened after putting in so much work.

@shoemaker
Good idea. I'll consider this if I can't get page-by-page loading to work (which is looking likely).

I've just uploaded beta 61:
  • Various fixes merged from @Garcia98 including New3DS speedup on hax 2.5
  • Added loading screen to folder opening
  • Removed tid.bin saving for title launching
  • Fixed duplicate cart icon in title menu

@suloku
I'm looking at the XML titles issue and can't figure out what I've actually done differently. I've just committed a change which uses your regionFreeRun2() method but it still doesn't work. I'm testing using the WiFi toggle app and it boots but doesn't actually toggle the WiFi, which I've been told is an issue relating to incorrectly booting the XML title. I can't figure out what I'm doing differently to your launcher. Do you have any ideas?

Well, if you've moved on to hax 2.5, my wifi toggle app doesn't work at all, period (on either launcher, nwm::EXT access is completely broken), so that may be why.
