If you downgrade it, it allows you to play pc games at 4k 60fps by allowing arm29 support, which is double the support arm9 gives us.

Why? :(
"I have no idea what that does, probably some spy thing, just take it out" :|

If 3DS can exhibit 60 FPS for both eyes with a CFW you can dessynchronize them and then run at 120 FPS, which is logarithmically 10 times faster than before. Crazy, right?

Reminds me the good old days of Wii hacking. Eventually something will be exploited, be patient!
I expect another similar thread in a day or two. In this day and age of casual games, where almost every hurdle out there can be conveniently jumped by spending a little cash (pay-to-win whether it's DLC, microtransactions, or buying some cheat device/software), NOBODY'S GETTING PATIENT. Quite the opposite, actually.

In the good old days, people didn't care about piracy and worked together.

This, so much this. So many useful things were achieved with the old Wii. I wish there was some guy in the 3DS brew like Waninkoko that wasn't narrow minded and didn't care about piracy, he cared about science and achieving the impossible :3

and people like yellows8 and smealum with misguided ideas about piracy didn't obviously hide it from the public somewhere in Stanton ;)
I mean hell i already have games i just don't want to update to get them back from the eShop because i am interested in making cheat codes and prefer keeping spiderhax. i don't need kernel I'd be good with just spoofing the eShop on 9.5.0-22 and downloading free special demos

and to answer OP
it depends when yellows8 and smealum either let go of their hypocrisy about piracy and release their secret kernel exploit or a new kernel exploit is found
so never ever apparently

yup. noobs just don't get the picture and keep repeatedly asking the same questions again. we need a fucking sticky thread made by some moderator that shuts the newbies up about kernel access over 9.2
