Hello again @mashers I'm back again with a suggestion. Once you press the home button to enter the title selection screen or change folders the screens freezes for a couple of seconds while it loads. Would it be possible to make a loading or please wait kind of screen instead of getting the screens to freeze while it loads?

While loading all the corners buttons disappear except the outer space of the cofiguration button on the top left.

Also on the bottom screen of the folders help page there is no back button like on the bottom screen of the about page.

With these two fixed I think that the only extras I would love are the ones you already have planned for the future
  • Customisable background wallpaper for top and bottom screens
  • Customisable colour scheme
  • Customisable background music
  • Sound effects
  • Favourites
  • Scanning folders other than /3ds/ EDIT: Without the .hbfolder extension.
  • Screenshots
I got really creative with sulokus hbl mod and I can't wait to make themes for your's. I'm really hyped for it :hrth:
Here's one of my customs themes for suloku's hbl mod for example.

How is it that you're requesting folders, yet the screenshot you attached has you in a different folder? -_-

Scanning folders without the .hbfolder extension support is what he requested, not folder support. -_-

@mashers Would you consider making L/R preserve the location of the selected icon when paging? It doesn't seem as intuitive to me for them to behave as if you scrolled icon-by-icon; personally I'd prefer for the cursor to be in the same place on the next page, but I'm not sure if that's something others would agree with. The way the cursor position works when scrolling to the next page using the d-pad certainly makes sense, but scrolling with the shoulder buttons seems a bit more confusing.

Thanks for the new suggestions and bug reports guys. I will work on all of these :) For now, here's a set of screenshots of what I've been working on over the last couple of days for the next beta:

Coming soon, buds! :)
you forgot to tm the soon bro :P

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

That looks so cool!
I wonder if we will be able to share themes with this... I know it isn't a xml file but i wonder... I guess we will just have to jot down the RGB value for everything.

@mashers, I have another suggestion: When someone enters to "folder selection", "config options" or "Reboot", should be a way to select that options (boxes) with D-Pad+A too and not only tapping (as now)!... Could you implement that, please?

Edit: Oh, an another thing: When you re-select a folder (I mean, select same folder that actually is seen), HBL tries/goes to reload it... I think this would be unnecessary, indeed!.. Any way to prevent reloading an actual shown folder? Thanks!

Beta 25 is up lads:
  • Back button on settings page now unhighlights if you drag off of it
  • Loading page when populating/updating the title menu
  • Customisable colour scheme in settings - adjust the colours of the ting, background, inactive buttons, water and text
  • Enabled options in the settings now display a tick instead of turning that horrible green colour ;)

Yes that did occur to me actually. Definitely possible - added to the to-do list.

Eventually yes. Currently the colour scheme is stored in hbl.cfg along with the other settings, so if you overwrite it to share the colour scheme then you will overwrite your other settings too. A future update will separate the colour scheme into a separate config file in which other customisations like the wallpaper will go. That will allow you to share it as a theme.

Good idea - I'll add it to the todo list.

Another great idea - I'll sort it :)

When animated water is desactivated, the custom color doesn't apply.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. It's because the still water is a pre-rendered image. The whole point of the non-animated water is that it doesn't need to be rendered every frame for better performance on older devices. The only thing I could do is make the static wave an alpha mask and add the RGB data to it according to the colours chosen in the settings. I've added that to the todo list.
