game was working fine until I got newest update from a certain website. Now I get a black screen when launching through gateway. Did Nintendo take queues from the Binding of Issac? (another game unplayable after updating)

on 9.2 O3DS.

haven't tried the newest update on my N3DS yet. (I good thing going...as it's working fine)

this is my first time running it with all the hacked previous DLC on this O3DS. do you think it's just taking a damn long time loading and reading and initializing all the DLC and stages? or is it a AP snag...

EDIT: Guess its not the latter...applied update on N3DS and game loads fine...

So long as your O3DS is using the latest version of Gateway as well, it'll take care of any current AP.
If you're still having issues getting it to boot on the O3DS, try removing the update > redropping it on your SD & installing it again.

Started xfering the update to my N3DS wirelessly, but you got it going on yours, so we know the update itself is good. :)

yep. it's the GF's O3DS XL. just loaded smash CIA newest update and all the DLC. and started it up. guess it's a shitload of files to load. its been over 30 minutes...actually I'd say about an hour. black screen. but plays on my N3DS (gradually received DLC updates previously) works fine

I believe you only need to install the latest DLC & Update to get everything.
It also shouldn't take any longer to boot, you'll just get a ton of unlocks.

I know Smash updates after a certain point need 9.5 to run, so maybe update your emuNAND?

see?? that's the thing...it won't update my EMUNAND. It starts and then it says "an error has occurred. Unable to update"

can I safely update using RXTools?

That would likely be your issue then. I'm not too confident with alternate update methods so you're best waiting for somebody else to talk you through that ^^

As long as you're absolutely sure you have a separate, unlinked emuNAND, you can use Gateway to run an update from a cartridge dump. Just hold up when booting into Gateway mode, and use 3dsdb.com to find out which games (for your region) contain a 9.5 update (or higher, which is safe for old 3DS). Once you are absolutely sure you have booted into emuNAND, which is, again, unlinked from sysNAND, you can use that game to update.

I just installed puzzles and dragons Z+ mario on her o3DS. and yes. the NANDS are unlinked. according to 3dsdb It contains 9.5 (I know the o3DS can go higher but that doesn't matter to her.....for now)

so just hold up when launching gateway mode and then launch the game? it then will give an update prompt.

also is there a reason why EMUNAND can't update officially through Nintendo anymore? did they block it?

also I'm going to assume a brick would occur if the NANDS were linked right?

I can just update through system settings through RXTools right? I know you can do this via gateway too..rxtools should be the same correct?

Then put back the automatic dns on your emunand.

oh yes. I did. Now I use themehax when the console starts up

and yes I changed it back to auto-obtain DNS

OH SHIT. but NOT on emunand. problem possibly solved

You should keep the tubehax dns on your sysnand though, it prevents the console from downloading updates.

ohhhhh...so no more "system update is ready install now" crap?...I have multipatcher running a service that blocks updates...
