Too strange IMO, I have faith that SC team are not noobs and will eventually find some exploit. It's too stupid to just copy other teams work when you are the leader of the flashcart market
Well that's exactly what they did. Look at their website and the video where they show clearly that they're just emulating the Gateway card and use the MSET exploit on firmware 4.x

The fact that they are emulating Gateway doesn't mean it won't work on newer firmwares at all. Maybe they found a kernel exploit to make it (the Gateway mode) run on 9.3+. Again, that's highly unlikely, but if that's not the case, there will probably not be any reason to buy the card, except if the price is low enough (less than 60 dollars).

dont forget its possible/probable that after that long disappearing act, the people selling the DSTWO and using its brand aren't the original guys, who ever used to make it may have sold out and given their name/business to one of the cheap clone companies to milk the SC fanbase......lets face it its been quite a long time since they last released anything new, they have been riding the 1 product for the past 5 years or something

ooooh the sheer cheek of them lol, they even link directly to the GW page for their gateway guide/downloads

If that was the case, why "emulate" gateway and not just take one of the free CFW out there and claims as theirs? It's a really, really bad move in terms of marketing since it may cause a "war" between 2 companies that are already holding a cartel... It doesn't make any sense. The final user is the only victim of this.

Well, even if it's some cheap clone team, they have already done way more than the "standard" ones. The other clones were just... clones, with absolutely nothing special (oh yes, I forgot, QQ3DS packed a 3$ DS flashcard (which is a R4 clone) with "its" product), so at least here there is something new here.

Like I said on an other thread, maybe it can be a good marketing strategy. They already know Gateway can't sue them, just respond the same way they did before, with bricking. What is interesting here is that the DSTwo has been one of the most long living DS flashcards because of its CPU, that allowed it to bypass the successive firmware updates Nintendo made. What if the same thing was done with the Gateway? If they can "upgrade" their card so the launcher.dat does not recognise the DSTwo + as a clone, Gateway have absolutely no means of stopping them, and their reputation will decrease because they intended to brick consoles.
And if the DSTwo + price is lower than Gateway's, then it will without any doubt become the leader on the market.

I think they have a 10.1 kernel exploit and they're waiting to see if Nintendo releases any more updates before they release it.

I really hope they do. I am really thinking about selling my new 3DS because my nephew got a hold of it and updated to 10.1. I'll hang onto it for now

Am I blessed to have siblings that don't mess with my 3DS?
Even if they wanted to update, they'd first have to figure out how to bypass autoboot. Even if they did, I have a NAND backup.

I did have a NAND backup on a flashdrive, but that somehow disappeared lol
