Hacking couldn't install CFW to a 4.3 O3DS..

Ok so i was trying to install a CFW to my friends standard O3ds and i just couldn't. i used my gateway to set him up and the gateway mset works fine and i setup a emunand and all but if i install a cfw like rxtools or reinand i get little errors.

i first tried installing rxtools 2.6 (mset)
installed the mset and it loaded up to the menu, BUT when i tried to press load into emunand or sysnand it said some kinda error, i think something to do with the firmware.bin. so i gave him my firmware.bin from my N3ds reinand setup (i was told it is all the same firmware.bin) and put it in the sd root and also in the rxtools/sys just to be safe..
so the sd setup looks something like this (based on my memory)

now i placed the firmware.bin multiple times because im not sure where it goes, some say rxtools/sys for the new one and some say root of SD card

now as the ending result is that i tried both rxtools 2.6 and a nightly ver 3.0
and as for 2.6 when i placed the firmware.bin in some places that when i tried to launch rxtools 2.6 it just freezes on the setting up files screen "this should not more then a a minute" it hard freezes.

then i try to install the rxtools 3.0 but the multi ROP installer that came with the tool, none of the mset options there work. some say 4.x rxtools some say 4.x DG rxtools, and all that other stuff
installing any of them result in the settings app crashing back to the sysnand home menu.
is it because its 4.3 and and not 4.5?

Where ? You need to use the python script included for an o3ds.

ok so whats the correct folder layout for the rxtoolx nightly?

i tried that guide, its all over the place and confusing, its for setting up like 4 different configs. anyway i think that using the correct firmware should fix it.
and if i know the correct folder layout.

ok that is setup but the main issue here is still that none of the ROP from the mset installer work on this 3ds

Dud you use the right rxinstaller. Don't use the 2.6 one if you have the latest nightly, and vice versa.

Takes like 10 mins to set up everything... Really don't know where's the difficulty. Just follow the proper steps instead of skipping stuff and changing things. The more you mess with it, the more it will not work.

btw i was confused between the N3ds installation and the O3ds installation, N3ds needs the firmware.bin from reinand Not o3ds.

FOR NEW3DS USER :
6) Download Reinand 2.1 CFW
7) In Reinand archive find firmware.bin (in rei folder) the MD5 must be006559E2567DC7DF6C0F1AF17EDD9CE8
7.1) extract it to rxtools/data (you may have to create it)
7.2) rename the firmware.bin into 0004013820000002orig.bin
8) Put back SDcard to the N3DS
9) Power on your New3DS with your homemenuHax method (L or not)
it should boot Rxtools and Emunand.

You shouldn't try to use both guides, or a comparison. Just read the one thats specific to your hardware.
