Gaming GitHub Question

Ok, im finnaly starting to get GitHub. Whenever i git add I can get my files in my respository but its always inside another folder! is there anyway just to use the respository as the folder which those files are in?

Help is aprecciated and is anticipated

I stalk "3ds" on Github to keep abreast of what's happening on the hb scene.

Trust me, I didn't stumble across your github flailing by choice.

I have to filter out 'max' because 3ds max repo's are a plague on github (and have nothing to do with the 3ds)
