Hacking N3DS - Does the DS exploit get wiped for YOU? (+ poll)

Did you ever have any luck getting this to stick? I seem to be having the same symptoms. I ended up installing the MSET CIA file through CN > Pasta > CN > FBI. Not sure if you used the same workflow.

Edit - Nevermind saw your more recent post. Looks like I will need to work around it!

I install it via the ropinstaller or the Gateway GW_INSTALLER.nds. Either way, changing the profile color or time or whatever works for a few days but then eventually goes away. It's really strange.

Correct! I was on pre-mset reinand then when the update came out I was able to install mset by running CN > pasta CFW (for AM service) > CN again > FBI. You need to remove the old settings title first 00021000 (triple check that please) then install the mset_(region).cia

Since you can't really run devmenu with Cubic Ninja it was a little weird. The new version of FBI says it can overwrite programs but it lies! At least in this case.

I use the reinand rop installer from on my DS flashcart. It's basically the same setup. But yeah have tried name, color, etc without success. My friend with the same setup installing mset via Gateway > devmenu seems to always have it stay. Strange indeed!

Method works on my N3DS. Sort of. It won't stick if I play a DS game in emunand, but it does in sysnand.

guys , is this permanent , the sticking of the dsexploit ? i have done it and it is sticked now which is very cool, cause i use my bluecard in sysnand to play ds games, and right after that i tap the ds profile and it boots to my gw emunand,

what should i not do to not disable the mset again, only not having to press start whilst booting a ds game or is there something else ..?

i will try playing a retail game now on my sysnand and then i will use the bluecard to play a ds game, i want to see if the exploit (mset) is still there then..
if it is then its all good i guess.

This worked for me too! Thanks so much!
Previously the profile exploit was wiped till I tried this. Below are my actual steps.

1) Install the exploit using the N3DS_ROPInstaller.nds; e.g. Profile Name: slslasher
2) Go to settings and change Profile Name to another one; e.g. Profile Name: slslasher01
3) Launch a DS game, exploit would be gone
4) Install the exploit using the N3DS_ROPInstaller.nds again and it should be stuck

Extra Steps because I want to change back my original profile name
5) Go to settings and change Profile Name to my original one; e.g. Profile Name: slslasher
6) Launch exploit and test, there should be an error.
7) Install the exploit using the N3DS_ROPInstaller.nds again and it should be stuck

Ahh that sucks. Eh, not like it's a super huge problem, just a bit annoying.

- New 3DS XL (Metallic Black EU)
- SysNAND 9.0
- Directly downgraded MSet with DevMenu
- Installed NVRAM through GW menu
- Test if it was working (it was)
- Downgraded Whilelist to v0 with DevMenu to re-enable GW Blue Card
- Profile exploit do not resist playing a DS game
- Use N3DS ROP installer now when I'm done playing DS games

Is it possible to use it on my o3ds ? My downgraded mset 4.0 gives an error when I try to patch it (no additional descriptions)... I don't know if mset 4.5 eur is required (because I'm using 4.0), or if I'm using the correct installer.

By the way, I could install MSET 6.0 OR 9.0 too...

What should be the correct method for me, with a O3DS sysnand 6.2 E with downgraded mset 4.0 ?

Is there another permanent exploit for O3DS that would work with sysnand 6.2 and requires no internet and no physical games to install ?

Hey all. Did we ever get to the bottom of what would cause the DS profile exploit to get wiped? Last I remember we thought it was if a DS game accessed/changed your DS profile (or something like that).
Has there been any progress on finding a more reliable solution? Cheers

Just tried to stick the exploit on my N3DS (9.0 EU, downgraded MSET).

Failed with the nickname trick but worked with the color-trick (choose a different color, red, then again a different one, orange).

Tried several DS games with the Blue Card and the exploit is still sticked.

(Reinstalling it after playing a DS game wasn't a big problem as I use the Blue Card to play DS games, better than having several DS Carts in my pocket, so I also have the exploit installer on the Blue Card, but just wanted to test this method, out of curiosity).
