No, the screens are tinted yellow because the N3DS and N3DS XL were some of the poorest manufactured pieces of garbage ever, even worse than the DS Lite.
Let's see:
- Nintendo themselves admit to people in support that they took in a MASSIVE amount of N3DS repairs when that Animal Crossing shovelware game launched. N3DSes of all kinds ship DOA CONSTANTLY, ESPECIALLY the limited-edition ones.
- The SD card slot is... behind the backplate. Meaning you need to unscrew the back screws (and this is NOT easy), take off the backplate, and... switch memory cards that way. This is really stupid.
- The XL when it first came out, and to my knowledge now, still has two different "models" which you can find out by the type of screen
--- some come with a
TN screen, which aside from having garbage for viewing angles (horrible on a handheld), displays color somewhat poorly even at proper angles (at improper angles everything will look utterly terrible, look online for TN screen tests)
--- others come with a
IPS screen, which has much better viewing angles and actually displays colors properly
It was a lottery which one you'd get.
An N3DS is kind of pointless anyway. It has one whole game: Xenoblade.
