Stupid question, but how do I update the .CIA versions? Do I just install the newer version via FBI, and it overwrites the existing one, or do I need to manually delete the old version first?

These are the Neo Geo BIOS ROMs expected by Final Burn Alpha 0.2.97.30. If you don't have these, your neogeo.zip is probably wrong.

Again this proves that there's a big mess with .3dsx and .cia within the 3ds scene,...

The issue isn't .3dsx vs. .cia, the issue is the fact that 9.2 has a kernel mode hack (thus dynarec) and 9.3+ doesn't. All people on 9.2 and below can install .cia files so it makes sense to use that format.

Kernel mode is still technically possible using .3dsx using up to 9.2. It's just that only Ninjhax 1 supports it - it's arbitrarily blocked on Ninjhax 2 regardless of firmware version, I believe. Technically, a .3dsx should work on 9.2 using Ninjhax 1, but there's no access to the extra N3DS resources using Ninjhax 1 though so it might not be worth it.

Actually, anyone know how the Ports differ from the Vita and 3DS? Better on 3DS or better working on the Vita?

Don't know about the ports. But for ps1 the psvita is superior. The ps1 games costs between 2-9 euros. I have bought around 25 ps1 games for 60 euros. Very nice, cheap and worth it! But there is always a but....

There are many ps1 games thats missing on the shop. (Over 10 japanese shmups, wipeout 2 & 3, Legend of Mana etc.).

Therefore I'm very interested in this ps1 emulator :).

Btw. We have reached 100 pages in this thread :)

So One game doesn't run fullspeed out of thousands and that shoud be the benchmark? At least pick wacky races.

One game not reaching full speed already means no full speed. I haven't downloaded any more GBC roms, but i'm sure there's more.

I don't think that's a very clever way of looking at things - there are many games that suffer from 'slow down' on the systems they're native to; does that equate to full speed on that system being untrue?

No 100% means no 100%, it only means that it can achieve full speed to a certain extent.

Downloading the last nightly with a few GBC exclusive games. I'll report later.

But full speed doesn't mean 100%. It just means some games are playable.

This comes from this reply:

CatSFC and Picodrive are likely to get fullspeed eventually. Gambatte already is.

And no, Gabatte isn't full speed, it already struggles with Belmont's Revenge (slowdowns where there shouldn't be, i've played that game to death since my teen years) so no way it is full speed. With some games? Obviously, enought to say that it IS full speed? Hell no.

He probably meant the CIA versions. Which, yes. Are full speed.
