Correction... it CAN be converted to cia and WILL boot BUT it will crash/hang the system as soon as you try to run anything.
I (and a few others) tried it ages ago with only those results to show. :(
Question about that: Any future possibility to implement a working .cia HBL using Yellows8's "spiderhax exploit tool" new update/future release? I said this, because he said just that (https://github.com/yellows8/3ds_browserhax_common#homebrew-launcher):

The loader for Old3DS runs actual native code under the context of Home Menu, if you really want to run your own code under Home Menu you can modify that code in the loader. This code runs very early in the Home Menu process boot.

@mashers The new update is looking much better, just one thing I want to point out:

The drop shadow on these elements are way too strong. This is a common mistake by many, it just makes things look faux and unnecessarily bolded. I also think it's redundant to have the word "Homebrew" twice, I think having the logo on the top screen is enough.

Here's the PSD of my concept, hopefully it'll help you out!

he said that the exploit runs under the home menu, but it isn't able to boot it as a cia.

you got a CIA installer?

No, only for curiosity about is possible run HBL and launch .3dsx or definitely not!... And about .CIA installer, I know HBL isn't and exists FBI, BBM, etc., for that!

Thanks buddy! I'll download the PSD tomorrow and check the settings for the drop shadows. With regard to the word homebrew being present twice, I hadn't actually noticed this since the 3DS screens are further apart on the device than in the emulator. Maybe I should change the title of that page to "Apps"?

I think you should just omit the entire blue bar from the design, it doesn't really serve any purpose.

Hi everyone

I've just uploaded a new version of the launcher which adds the following features:

  • The design update is based on the amazing concept uploaded by @link6155
    • The waves have been reinstated
    • The app icon on the top screen is original size now (and thus no longer pixellated) and is now decorated by a nice drop shadow
    • The homebrew launcher icon is back
    • The blue in the colour scheme has been changed
    • The page arrows and indicators have been redrawn and recoloured to tie in better with the colour scheme
  • In addition:
    • The toolbar icons on the bottom screen have been redrawn and have a nice shadow now
    • The corner radius of the icons has been adjusted so they are not as rounded
    • The region free loader now shows the game icon only on the top screen instead of the extra one on the bottom screen
Still lots of work to do, but it's getting there :)
svdt and Save Manager still not showing the Target title selector icon...

In regards to building a CIA, why not just make a second HB app (in the form of a CIA) that simply executes the HB payload?

How?... Not possible anyway... Only remains to install and run any homebrew on .cia format directly, as usually (ATM)!

I apologize. I can tell English isn't your first language, so I hate to ask this, but can you please say that differently so I can try to understand?

I really like the looks of this, it'd be something I'd probably make use of. However, if there's one thing I'd add, it'd be a power options menu to reboot to the Home Menu or simply shut down the 3DS. If you do have this in your version of the launcher, I'd probably use it hands down.

Sorry, however I edited that... But, I mean, the way that you said isn't possible! Just that!

Edit: Maybe, "remains" is the correct word for "rest"... Sorry again!

I personally really like the bar. Maybe once he gets folders sorted out it can come back and say "Home Screen" then when you click on a folder it changes to the name of that folder

I really don't see why someone couldn't make a cia that executes the Ninjhax payload.

Unless someone finds a way for that and/or solve re-coding HBL and exploit method (payload) to launch it!... Maybe, not impossible, but very difficult, IDK!
