That means you had the update already downloaded on the system and it installed during Quickboot. No wifi = No way to download updates.
They knew the password of the wifi, they know the AP name, easier than you think it was for them x), they wanted to watch movies on netflix.
How come it would have stayed on the WiiU for months ^^, because remember it was 5.3.2 when i turned the wifi off, at the very last, it would possibly be the 5.4.0 that COULD have been downloaded :).
Still, i think i will setup some proxy filter but dont know if some of you have some good link they've already tested ?

Then connect to wifi and change DNS settings in options. But with the internet these days they can probably figure that out then. You could set a static route in your router and give the WiiU a DHCP reservation on its MAC in the router, then just set the static route in your router to go to 1.1.1.1 or something bogus for the WiiU's reservation address. Just make sure the wifi password isn't the same as your router admin password. ;)

Does anyone know how to give permission to sd card access for a downloadable main menu game for SD cafiine?. I'm trying to use NSMBU with SD Cafiine eshop version not disc, I was trying last night but got too tird, it kept saying it could not mount sd card for some reason so it needs permission/access to the sd card slot, it would really help me to get this going with NSMBU levels. Anyone know how I could go about doing that please to get it up and running with sd slot?

Just to make it clear: You can't force any game to get SD card access!
There are certain games that call a specific library to get this access! (like Sm4sh or the Mii Maker)
Software that doesn't use the SD card just are not compatible with SDCafiine! ;)

Seconded. I haven't even set any of this up but I've read this like 20 times throughout multiple threads.

Ok so you cant force access then to the slot in anyway. I thought maybe creating the NSMBU save file on an sd card, I'm using to the sd slot might create access or do something. Sorry I'm really not sure tbh.

That is the thing! People just write the same questions over and over again without looking up whether it was answered already!
In this case it's even written on the post that has the download link to the code!

I know Golden/MN1 mentioned it before but there not here to help there a sleep probably this time. I thought maybe some way could be done to give permission to the slot and it is new stuff and he did mention he has only tested it with 1 game so far?

Edit: @Maximilious. I think 20x, is a slight over the top exaggeration?

I'm pretty sure someone else already tried this too and I thought one of the devs mentioned it won't work since it doesn't have access. Either way worth a try I suppose like you mentioned. And no exaggeration, I've kept up on the threads over the weekend and I've seen it asked A LOT.

Yeah it was me. I did ask when trying last night but it was like 2.00a.m. in the morn in the uk and I was really quite blurry eyed so I wanted to continue today. You do realize Cafiine sd only got released last night?

Yes, and I've seen it asked/talked about quite a bit like I mentioned lol. I'm sure it won't be the last time either sadly haha. I'm just waiting for everyone else to test all this stuff before I even attempt it. Just got my WiiU on Thursday so I don't want to mess it up yet lol

Yeah I cant give it access how I wanted, you cant transfer a NSMBU save file to an sd card to do it :( bummer only USB so it would not work anyway, scraped idea. Thanks for your help :)

SD card access is theoretically possible from everywhere through patching a kernel syscall that requests access from IOSU, but afaik nobody managed to successfully patch it yet. It's not at all impossible though, likely just a matter of time, if something else doesn't hinder progress.

Is it possible for me to do a system transfer from a 5.5.0 system to a 5.3.2 system? I was thinking of getting a console only 5.3.2 system and then trading my old data over to it before selling the 5.5.0 system. I know that with 3DSes it's not possible to transfer to an old firmware.

If it's not possible, then what about when the firmware spoofer is released?

I just want to say, without IOSU exploit, you can't use SDCafiine(and USBCafiine) with NSMBU.
