It is absolutely unnecessary to belittle or make a mockery of other people's beliefs. If you do not believe in whatever he is talking about or have anything fruitful to say, you can just find another thread that matches your interest.

As a person of science and also versed in some psychology/psychiatry I am going with the 1) it does not exist (physics allows for some spectacular things to happen, still physics though) and 2) if you are genuinely of the opinion that it does exist and you are performing it then that is not likely a good thing. Recognising the placebo effect I do apply the same to any non science grounded type actions.

If you are just downloading things off the internet then be aware there are some especially cretinous types in this world that will try to hurt people.

If you want to draw some philosophy from various things like this then fair enough. If it provides you with a nice mantra ("I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer." and such like), ability to get into a good mindset or framing device then great.
When it is no longer fun though then it is time to consider what is going on.

Yeah it is bloody addictive as well

It is also a bit hard to come by in the US so I have to take special measures to import it for those that got hooked on this stuff when in the UK.

Was eagerly and utterly surprise when I saw this thread...lord have mercy don't use black magic/voodoo its evil and if you try to summon the dead you'll only be bringing awful things upon your life so please don't attempt it, all demons want to do is destroy you and the loved ones around you and once they are inside you it can be hard to banish them without professional help which is very hard to find these days but if you believe in jesus christ and have good faith you can overcome those temptatious desires to practice magic lol geez I get so emotional when someone brings this specific topic up...I'll be praying for you~

for the record I don't believe in magic or any of that stuff either. I also don't believe in a God

but I completely understand how some people can't live like that, and I guess if there's anything I'd live by it's not putting down how people cope with feeling lost spiritually

@OP as long as whatever your doing is of no harmful intent/consequences then go for it. Just keep in mind that there is a lot of awful, awful stigma associated with this kind of stuff so maybe you want to restrict who you openly talk to about it. In some culture, the name is very important and is a strong magic.
Telling your name is becoming slave to that person, keeping your (real) name secret prevent you from being targeted by other "magic intent".
edit: even without any magical or mystical power, having a person's name is providing power and ability to interact with it along with a social link between two persons.

"currently" is probably the keyword here.
adventuring too far might reverse against you, unless you are strong enough to face what could happen, but if you have recourse to this practice to get better might already be a sign that you are not.


Also, that's funny that you mention succubus to feel better, as in many culture (and movie/books/games/etc.) the succubus is known to suck your life force and it has the reverse effect than feeling better (getting ill, sleepy, tired, feeling depressed, ...)


you are saying that you are looking for friendship, but it's only you. The entity you contact does NOT look for friendship, it doesn't need any. what it needs might be something else, but not friends.
You asked if that's a good thing, I would say it's not. not because it's "black" magic, but because this is not were you should look for friends. for something else, it's maybe the right place, but not friendship.
