Hacking Japanese New3DS LL... Update?

Hi all.
Since i live in Japan, I decided to try my luck a buy a N3DS LL...
I got unlucky of course, it came out with 9.4.
(At least I got an IPS screen)

My question is: since I'm still interested in future developements of the homebrew/backup world, would it be OK to update it to the newest (apparently 10.1.0-27J) version?
Or would it be smarter to leave it 9.4.0-21J?
Reason is I'd love to use the Eshop if possible.

Currently Tubehax is fixed by Smealum, so if you have the youtube app you're good to go.
He expects to have Ninjhax & Ironhax back up and running tomorrow night.

Problem is the consolle is brand new, which means I can't download Youtube app if I don't update it first.
Will I still be able to do it?

Actually my dream is being able to use Gateway... but I guess that's never going to happen, right?

As far as I know the youtube app is still on the e-shop.
I'd wait for someone else to confirm that it is & still works just the same though.

It's doubtful, but you never know. You'd have to take out your crystal ball and look into the future to be certain.

It may be a good idea to get a 2nd 3DS/2DS so you can use one while waiting for firmware support on the other.
The chances of an exploit being found on the current firmware compared to a previous or older version isn't great especially given Nintendo's update pattern.
