Smealum said that it was part of his code and maybe that means that the exploit involves Ninjhax/Tubehax/Ironhax

It probably was built off of HBL, since right now that's the easiest way to execute unsigned code on the 3DS. No surprise there :/

rofl i can guarantee you that guy is bullshitting. If you want a kernel exploit, get your hands on a 9.2 3ds, else you'd have a higher chance at winning the lottery than another kernel exploit being released.

Seems like either they patched an exploit/flaw or did something to spy on people's 3ds', possibly to start a ban hammer. Very strange for such a large update to not kill any flashcards, homebrew or anything else that can alter code on the system.

- My body is not ready -

the replacement for nintendos account structure is supposed to release this year along side the first mobile games. I wouldn't be surprised if theyre slowly rolling out parts of that

How can you trust someone that 'accidentally' updated his 3DS?
Pretty easy to do, considering it spams you every opportunity it can get.

Anyways the guy said that if his kernel exploit was patched with 10.0 that he would release it. Apparently it works up to firmware 9.9. I can link his post but I'd rather not draw a bunch of attention to him.

What we do know is that this update was huge and rearranged a bunch of things, so I wouldn't necessarily rule it out. But I also wouldn't get any hopes up.

God damn!
Perhaps read first and then write?!?!
It´s all in the wiki.

http://3dbrew.org/wiki/3DS_System_Flaws#Kernel11 -> AffinityMask/processorid validation -> Fixed in FIRM system version: 10.0.0-X -> Successful exploitation result: Nothing useful

In detail:
  • Old3DS: Useless kernel-mode crash due to accessing unmapped memory.
  • New3DS: uncontrolled data write into a kernel-mode L1 MMU-table. This isn't really useful: the data can't be controlled, and the data which gets overwritten is all-zero anyway(this isn't anywhere near MMU L1 entries for actually mapped memory).

So that means we can do cool kernel crashes?
No really what was nintendo's reason to even make a update if don't even take the time to patch userland exploits. those ARM11 patches weren't worth it

Trolls or morons?
Throwing insults with uncertainty is never a wise move. I hope you have humility if it pans out, of course in this scene deniability is key, but many are aware of the different firmware exploits up to the latest Nintendo release.

Being a dick for the sake of being a dick, is nothing other than a dick. Your not a dick are you?
