Did you change the DNS of the right connection?

Some ISPs do hijack all DNS requests, so it's entirely possible you might be on one of those.

It's still possible to launch homebrew "the long way". If you've got Ironfall, this isn't so bad because you can just install Ironhax and ignore YouTube. If it's your only way of running homebrew though, things are gonna suck.

Long version:
  • start YouTube
  • touch the "three dots" icon in the top right
  • (sign out and then) hit Sign In
  • scroll down and hit Privacy Policy
  • scroll up and hit Google logo
  • type "smea mtheall" (without quotes) and hit OK
  • hit Search and open the first result, "Firmware version selector"
  • follow the on-screen instructions
You'll have to do this every time you want to start up the Homebrew Launcher this way, so it's functional but horribly inconvenient.

Yep, as long as you have Ironfall on your 3DS already, you can just launch Ironhax Installer via this method and then never look at YouTube again. If you don't have Ironfall, though, you're out of luck as it's been removed from the eShop.

One thing to double check - do you have multiple internet settings configured. If so, are you sure you changed the DNS settings for the connection you're actually using?
