Maybe you should the first post of the thread. But remember, it's not user-friendly at all so if you're not familiar with coding you maybe should just wait a little longer and let devs do the work.

what is the diference?and there will be a tcp gecko for linux or no?
Install any Windows version in VirtualBox and in the virtual adapter settings (in Settings → Network) choose "Bridged Connection" for now...
I'm going to create a native Qt app but I'm too busy at the moment. I'll be free in a few days.

OK, then use any Windows version from XP to 8.1. Windows 10 does not work perfectly in VirtualBox yet.
You can find VirtualBox in the Ubuntu Software Centre. Install and open it, then click on "New" and follow the wizard.
Once Windows is installed, power off the virtual machine (by shutting down Windows), then click "Settings", go to "Network" and select "Bridged Adapter" instead of "NAT".
Finally, start the virtual machine and install Gecko dotNET (you may need to install .NET Framework as well, but the latest versions of Windows do that for you.)
Run it, and it will work perfectly ;)

You don't need to activate Windows. You can download Windows 8.1 Enterprise Trial for free.

its is just a test!!

and I have to have a iso image of the windows I wont to install(windows 7) or not?

It doesn't matter. It lasts for 3 moths and you can reset the counter up to three times. 3x3=9 months. If you need more time, you can recreate the virtual machine from scratch.
Anyway, the native Linux version will be ready in a few days or weeks, so that's plenty of time.

Have you tried just running TCP Gecko using Wine instead of this whole virtual box thing?? Pretty sure you it supports .NET Framework too. Also Cafiine works in Wine.

TCP Gecko crashes when I try to connect. I'll try using the official framework later.
Ok, I'll set up a distro and see if I can get it working. I have a couple different versions/mods of TCP Gecko here. Dantarion's has the .NET errors fixed, but I'm not sure which one you're using.

If no program works, I'll try using VS to backport the program to an older version of .NET Framework, then MonoDevelop should be able to build it.

I hope all the future apps will be cross-platform in order to avoid these pointless compatibility issues.
