What end-user applications will be released this year? *O*

Example:
- Record gameplay?
- Play vwii on gamepad?
- Game backups?
- Stream and play pc on gamepad?

- 1 month?
- 3 months?
- December?
- First Q1 of next year?

That is indeed the same bug that I made the first kernel exploit for, and the one that's being released.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

To clarify are both exploits still working on the newest firmware?

One kernel exploit is patched, the other is unconfirmed. The 5.4.0 browser bug still exists.

And the patched one that's getting released works on 5.4.0?

I'm curious, I have this flash drive I used to store save files and got corrupted half a year ago, playing some games (physical Hyrule Warriors, Smash) would crash the console but some others (Digital NSMBU) would work and would even recognize my save files. Entering Data Management also made the console crash so I never managed to retrieve the save files from that flash drive.

It would be possible to recover those files with Homebrew? With a Save Manager or something? I'm really not that interested in piracy but I would love to recover those save files and that little spark of hope is the only thing that's stopping me from updating.

Um, yeah probably. Each console has its own storage keys which you'll need a full ARM kernel exploit to get, but once you do, they never change and you can decrypt any external media as you please. Depends on how corrupted it is, one wrong byte can throw the whole chunk off, but anything after should still work. IIRC a chunk is like 0x200 bytes or something and from my tests with Splatoon it has an allocation for 0x10000 so should be mostly recoverable for most games. Only downside is it won't work on another console since it'll have its own keys, even if you do a system transfer.

I'm sorry to keep bugging you but the way you answer my questions are confusing. So yes or no. Does the exploit you now plan on releasing work with Wii U version 5.40 as soon as it's released?
No, it works fine but there's no public way to run it, need a userspace exploit first.

Simple homebrew this year. And hopefully some gecko support to change music or use offline cheats
