Well, you can delete your net settings from sysnand and unlink the nands, then change the emunand theme color to something like blue. As far as updating, there are tutorials on this site that should help you.

I am not sure if this needs to be asked here since it is within the operation of reiNand.

I updated the emuNand (rei) to 9.5 some time ago. And this is running on the test build.
Now that I have it set up and allowed the wifi to run, it keeps telling me there is an update to install.
Can I get rid of this? And will there be any issues going from the test build to 2.0 since I already updated?

My emuNand and sysNand are unlinked

There's no way to safely remove the update nag in EmuNAND yet.

Welp. Just bricked my 3ds I guess. Followed a guide online to install the new firmware. I was in emunand and everything. Doesn't boot up anymore. Had it working perfectly before and all this sh*t just to play stupid smash bros. oh well. Im an idiot. Blue light comes on, but screen stays black.
edit: the firmware download link was for old3ds and I used it instead of getting the new3ds one myself... but still why would that affect my sysnand? idc if I have to redo the emunand part. now im just depressed. this sucks.all my fault.

Figured as much. Was hoping there was something new that I have not seen.
So once a day, no bid deal. Curious to know what it going to happen if I accidentally click on update.
I presume it will just fail. Any adverse side affects?

It won't fail, it'll install. It won't boot though. When you try and boot an EmuNAND over 9.5 on a N3DS, you'll be greeted with a black screen.

Did you unlink your emumand? I hope you have a hardmod and nandbackup.

What do you mean by firmware? Do you mean you used Sysupdater to update your EmuNAND or something? If you just mean that you updated your version of ReiNAND, I had the same issue the other day, which was oddly enough solved by removing my MicroSD card, reseating the battery and powering the system on. It booted up fine then, and continued to work fine after reinserting the mSD.

No what I did was:
Download Firmware updates for the old 3ds instead of the new 3ds because I'm an idiot
Boot into Reinand through cubic ninja
Open title manager
Install the cias
Return to home menu (system working just fine) in reinand
Power off 3ds
3ds now stays at black screen with blue light
I assume I had to unlink the emunand first and that's why it broke the sysnand...

....nope. none of that. so it's trash now?
The absolute #1 rule to 3ds modding is BACKUP THE NAND!
because even if you dont have the hardmod you can send it in to a hardmod service (providing that you trust them) and they can recover it.
A long time ago i bricked my ps3 and didnt have a backup, i sent it to someone on ebay and payed 80$ and he unbricked and downgraded it. Maybe if your lucky you can find such a service.

Try booting to boot recovery mode (press L+R+A+↑+Power it will ask you to update. You will have 9.9 but if it works at least you can use it.

Didn't work. appreciate the suggestion tho.

Guess I'll just go grab a ds lite after work tomorrow or something. Was trying to cut down on my game playing anyways i guess... but damn if the regular n3ds wasn't the best handheld I'd ever owned.
Not that the money to buy a system is really the problem but rather i dont know how id find another one 9.2 and below, thats what really sucks.

OH, well that is scary. After you click the button on the pop up message, is there another point where you can decline the install? Or is it all downhill from there?
I did not think it would complete the install being that it was on emuNand.

From memory, after you click yes to the popup, it prompts you once more for confirmation before updating. As long as you're not mashing the A button, you should be okay :).

This may not matter, but does not hurt to try. Take off the back and remove that battery. Leave it out for a few mins and see if it will boot.
Just thinking that it may not be shutting down all the way.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind when meh fingers get all fidgety :P

Don't ignore the recommendation to remove the battery for a few minutes, it's important and can make a difference. So give it another shot.

Then try booting into recovery mode again (after removing the battery for a minute), it's tricky to get right.

Press and hold L+R+A+↑, then press the power button while keeping the other buttons held down. Keep them held until the screen comes on.

Good luck!

Tried everything. its bricked. wish they sold new 3ds motherboards, id have no trouble fixing it like that. Its tough, i could import another one for $180 and have it thursday but no way itd have firmware for pasta. i bought my original one in march and it shipped with 9.0.0 so i can only imagine theyre at like 9.6 or something at this point.or i can get a used old 3ds guaranteed to have a good firmware for ~$100. dont think the extra $80 is worth the risk.

I dont want to pay $160 to import another system when theres no way it ships with low firmware at this point. I'm just gonna grab an old 3ds for cheap. the faceplates were amazing tho lol ill miss those the most.

Just a couple questions, though they won't help solve your problem.

Are you certain you created an Emunand to begin with? You would have had to enter Gateway mode or Pasta menu. I'm thinking it's this step you forgot to do, since backing up the Sysnand is done in either of these menus; Reinand will boot to Sysnand with sigs patched if there's no Emunand in place.
If you had setup an Emunand, when you went to update, did you go into System Settings to check that you were in Reinand, then back out and proceed to update the firmware? *Going into Settings, then back to Home menu will kick you out of Emunand to Sysnand. So if you did that, you installed files over the Sysnand instead.

Now for a suggestion, though I doubt it'd work. Try removing your mSD then turning the system on. If it's still a black screen, then i'm fairly certain you installed to you sysnand. If it boots (Pretty unlikely) then your nands were linked and the emunand was corrupt(?)

Well I basically clicked on the reinand option from the homebrew channel, and i checked and it booted showing rei9.0.0 thing in system settings which i assumed meant i was in emunand but i guess thats wrong and im a moron who didnt actually have an emunand to begin with.... i noticed that checking system settings booted me back to sysnand so i just went back in through the HBC and booted reinand and went straight to title manager to install the updates. jesus im dumb. all this just cause i hhaaaddd to play smash bros...
and yeah ive tried every different combo turning it on off w/o msd all that... no dice.
