At the very least that means that your mset has been downgraded properly. Let me check with @Reisyukaku. He was looking into this before if I'm not mistaken.

Yes. You need to install 6.x MSET
Ok, so I got this to work with mset 6.x. It was a bit of a hassle but it finally worked. Thanks for that.

For MSET on newer firmwares, first downgrade the MSET app to the 4.x or 6.x version (there's tutorials on this site for doing that), then use the CakesROP.nds or code.bin on the downloads page to install the correct ROP.
@mid-kit you might want to clarify in the OP that code.bin does only work with mset 6.x on newer FW.

firmkey.bin : You need to decrypt ticket.db. Use decrypt9 (see OP)

firmware.bin :
you have to download n3ds 9.5 firmware (any region, google it) and extract necessary file using ctrtool with this command :
ctrtool --content=file 0004013820000002.cia
change the name of the extracted file to firmware.bin

okay now I have both firmkey.bin & firmware.bin , what's next

EDIT: I found it

thanks ..

This is working perfect for me. Apart from the lack of region free which can be fixed with the multipatcher. Would region free be able to be made a cake or is it something that we should just use multipatcher for?

The problem with both regionfree and patching the "Ver." string, is that both things aren't patched in the NATIVE_FIRM.
They're patched in the Home Menu and System Settings, respectively.
@173210 expressed interest in adding plugin support for DHS, so maybe these kind of patches will be able to be done through there or similar.

Expecting.

i dont know why i still cant get gba vc games installed only on sysnand play in unlinked sysnand.

dont know what i've benn doing wrong, as agb_firm is patched on sysnand and if i install em in emunand too and boot in emunand gba games are working fine.

i read in this topic that some users managed to get gba games installed in sysnand only working and had my similar setup.

where i go wrong?

What do you mean by not working? I tend to keep my sysnand clean, but other users may be able to help you out if you elaborate more.

That's for installing the NVRAM rop for the profile settings exploit using spider. See the op for the link/QR to use it.

There's none. This is a CFW for the brave ones (for now) :P

No one is nice enough to write one for us, though the steps in the OP should be enough.

There is no special menu, if you've never booted CakesFW before or haven't setup autoboot, the normal patch selection menu will always show up.
As for FBI installation you'll have to use rxTools for now there's just no way around it.

Did you got it from rxTools? Yeah the size is larger since rxTools dump the whole partition.

Now here's the thing, our loader loads the encrypted FIRM but a dump/extraction from nand is decrypted. So you'll have to encrypt it first before using it. Another problem is that the loader expects an ncch containing the FIRM but the one from the partition is the actual FIRM. So using the FIRM from a nand dump is not as easy as it sounds.

Sorry to bother you again. I got a new problem. Is that possible to package the dumpped firm0 to the firmware.bin with NCCH? I need a 9.2 native_firm now, but no cia this time.

sorry, i should be more specific.
in sysnand when opening a gba cia throws me out the infamous "an error has occourred please turn off 3ds" error.

It's possible but it's very troublesome. I'll PM you with a link instead.
