OK, after deleting the extra data folder everything worked fine.

And it seems like the issue was my bgm file which corrupted my theme (using a bgm from a different theme works fine).
Any idea what's the matter with it?
Here's a download for it:

Just triyed, for me the bgm worked, try to use it with another theme, and be sure that in your theme Theme settings -> Enable use of BGM is enabled

Did you try loading the bgm on your 3ds or only in the software?

Enable use of BGM is enabled, and I've tried using the same bgm with a different theme, but got my theme corrupted again (3ds freezes which forces me to delete the extra data) :/

There's definitely a problem with this bgm.

Hmm I've just tried using it with a different theme and it worked.
So what's the problem with my theme settings? :/
Do I need to untick the SFX box?

Can I send you the theme by a pm so you can check it out for me?

If your theme doesn't have any sfx you must untick the SFX box, if still it doesn't work send it to me

Oh hey, unticking the sfx box fixed it.
But why is that?
I'm using the default Metroid NES theme (which has sfx), only using my bgm and edited top and bottom screens.
The sfx stuff is stored in the bcstm music file?

I think that while editing the theme you removed the sfxs leaving the sfx box checked, so when the home menu sees that sfx are enabled it tries to load them, but they doesn't exists so it crashes, the sfx are saved in the Body_LZ file

Oh I see, thanks a lot for your help.

Can someone tell me how to align the images properly? I always resize them, but they're still cut off. The background music and all of that good stuff is always fine, it's just my images that get cut off, I guess I'm not doing something right

Don't know if it's relevant anymore, but as it says in the first page, your image (talking about the top screen for example) must be
512x256 while the frame you're aiming for must be 412x240 from top left. You can download my Metroid theme from 3DSthemes.com and edit it to get a basic idea.

Seems like the little app icon drawable area is a little more than 20x50.
I think it's about 26x50 or 25x49.
Just though you might wanna know.

By the way, if anyone needs the commandlinetools to convert .wav to .cwav/.bcwav and doesn't want to download the whole pack, pm me.

When I create a cwav of what I want (ORA from JoJo's Bizzare Adventure), it comes out as an awful quality, like a 144p video sounds. Is there any way to improve the quality?

No, the SFX Wavs must be:
PCM unsigned 8-bit
Sampling rate: 8000 hz
Audio channels: mono

and yata automatically sets this specs when converting in cwav, using other specs would make the home menu not load the cwavs

OK. But then how can Nintendo make awesome HOME Menu BGMs? :O

Oh, sorry, mixed them up. BGMs are automatically converted by YATA+ now, right?
Yes, now you can drag a WAV in the main window of yata and click on "Auto WAV to BCSTM" to get your BGM converted, if the bcstm file it's too big you can reduce the size with audacity, yesterday i added the procedure to the guide
