I can already see it:
- Amiibo V2
- All new amiibo's will have a new chip!
- All Hardware needs to be updated to latest FW to use this!
- All old Amiibo's will be obsolent and can be traded in for a small upgrade price to V2 versions :p
- All software will be upgraded to support V2 and drop V1.

I think it's not allowed to post links to the bin files, it's still some form of roms and roms are a no go on gbatemp.

Anyway, how many will buy this, if Nintendo is going to shut it down in a proper way, it would be hard for clones to surface, so it could be a limmited thing in the end ;)

Aren't all Skylanders and Infinty toys all usable with an NFC reader or something?

Once it's out there the hackers can make the amiibos 2.0 identical to the backups and has Nintendo succeeded in stopping the hacks of 3DS? Nah. :P

1. Don't know, i just do know that Disney Infinity V2 toys don't work on v1 platform and V3 will be the same
So yo need to buy a new starter set for V3 (V3 has yet to be released) like you needed to do for V2, but there backwards compatible.
2. It's more like how hard Nintedo will try, like Disney and EA did when word was out, there toys where hacked, in the end, the hack never got released.

But like you said, once it's out, it's hard to stop it.

There's also a thing called maxlander that does the same but for skylanders
Not exactly. Maxlander is similar in that it can read and write Skylanders NFC tags, but there is a key difference. You need an individual NFC tag for each time you do it, you can't switch them easily with the banks that you see for Amiiqo.

Big deal, right? They are re-writable (the NFC tags provided with Maxlander) True, they are but apparently are limited to 99 rewrites. Also, they are ~$10-15 each if you wanted to have a couple extra (apparently the Maxlander package comes with 2)

If Amiiqo team finds a way to do something similar to what they have for Amiibos for Skylanders (with the ~200 slot storage and easy switching button), Maxlander will be dead in the water.

As for New Amiibos, although possible I think unlikely. The thing that is different from Skylanders and Disney Infinity is that with Amiibos, the NFC reading software is built into the console hardware (whether WiiU or N3DS/N3DSXL) Yes, they will release an NFC dongle for the older 3DS's, but I can't see them having something that would require new scanning/reading hardware in it's entirety unless it was some massive bundle that for a game that pretty much every Nintendo fan would get.

I love how in the source code for this app there is like 5 different spellings of Amiiqo.

Edit: Wait, sweis12, where did you get that APK? I found the real one online, and the one you posted looks like just a dummy app poorly made in AppInventor.

The amiibo bin is free, one reseller is selling the amiibo bin download free, so I'd recommend getting it ASAP.

You mean me, right? I'm the one running the public sharing of the bins on max console. If anything, I'm looking around on here for anyone that wants to help with bin uploads. I like Amiibo myself but it's not practical for me to just buy them all. The ones I only want (FE) are over $30+ each, no matter where I look. I even ordered an extra for myself, just for this.

I think he meant that one of the resellers has a has a $0.00 item that gives you the download.

Yes, that's me, I'm chocokitty or Nika, either is fine, lol. Most of the bin files circulating are from my public collection. Even in the demo video, someone is using my Yoshimura, LuLu Lucy, and others. You can check what's in the current download using this pastebin. If you or anyone wants to share their bins that aren't in the collection, a PM would be helpful.

I'm lost. I'm THAT reseller that has the free download on their site, I'm chocokitty as listed on amiiqo's resellers. You can just check my pastebin. Like I said though, I'm looking to get any help I can with collecting these bins. One friend of mine says he'll try to get all the Happy Home Cards and another guy says he has just about all amiibo but he doesn't have an arduino app for retrieving the bins. :/

I was just saying... anyway, can't wait for the product to come out, might stash some loose change and pick one up... thanks for putting up the amiibo bins, they are appreciated.
back to the amiiqo,
I just hope there's another way of loading the bins, because I don't own a NFC capable Android device...

Another question: How do I dump the Amiibo bins?

Thank you, you don't know how worried I was that the collection wouldn't work!
If you have a usb NFC reader, you can emulate android using andyroid, windroy, greymotion, or something else and dump them that way. The app/apk for getting bins is right in the download section of amiiqo's site.

Another question: How do I dump the Amiibo bins?
It's really simple though, you just open the amiiqo app and tap dump, then scan the amiibo, and it'll copy the nfc as a alphanumberic named bin file on to the root of the SD

Welp, looks like an Android app is super easy. :-D
I have it half done, but I might not release it... Because it is piracy in a way.
Do it then.

There's something like 60 million of them sold, that would be a nightmare.
