Hacking "Fake card please return to reseller"

On my r4i sdhc which says it supports 9.8, everytime I try to load it up with the required files, it simply states that it is a fake card. How do I get past this?

I had this exact same problem with my r4i sdhc. It's probably not a fake card, you just downloaded the wrong kernel on it.

I downloaded mine from their website. Can you link me to the kernal you used to not get this message?

mine said that too, but when i downloaded the right kernal it fixed it, it wasn't really a fake card.

I've had the same problem with my r4i-sdhc V5.0. Then I found a patch (Detailed in patch.png), and applying the same patch on newer versions "just werks" for me.
That said, idgaf if my card is fake, as long as it works. All r4 clones are fake anyway.

If is a V5.0 card from r4i-sdhc its a common problem with this brand of card, you have to use a patched kernel
